Actually there is a more faster way just hold the controller button instead of clicking it and then this menu will come up which has the option restart console and you only have to hold the controller button for 1 or 2 secondd

Better tip: hold your home button until a screen pops up with turn off controller, turn off console, and restart console press restart console easy and simple

Not the best advice, as the main problem for consoles is thermal throttling and dust buildup due to small heatsinks compared to Pcs. So just take it apart and clean the fans and heatsink, and change the thermal paste.
