I love your active imagination meditations, they’ve been extremely powerful and useful to me. They are indeed very complementary alongside prayer and more traditional mediation in the same way as intellectually studying the books and scriptures of spiritual traditions is a perfect partner to reading books by Jungian analysts and theorists. Physical bodywork shouldn’t be overlooked either alongside these other streams.
