Amnesty International UK says the government's new law to stop small boat crossings will do "nothing to fix the absolute mess it has made of the asylum system".

Steve Valdez-Symonds, director of the charity's Refugee and Migrant Rights programme, said the system was an "utter mess" which was costing taxpayers more and wasn't looking at the human reality.

Sick of people like this Amnesty guy. We need more concern shown about our own people who are in financial distress and look to those who legally arrive here to claim assylum. These criminals must be stopped. He forgets we are a piddling little country when it comes to numbers arriving.

If current trends continue then the Indigenous British People will be an ethnic minority in our own country within forty years.

This is the Tories "ace card" for the next election; promising a solution to a problem which they created.

Mr Valdez-Symonds, lets talk about SERCO taking over hotels and residential properties for the next 8 years

Our Govt us responsible for not helping it’s own people - let’s be absolutely clear about that.
We’re not impoverished because of asylum seekers - we’re impoverished because our Govt chooses to borrow money to subsidise the vast unearned profits of it’s energy cartel - leaving us paying tge highest prices on the planet! We will all be taxed for this eventually in the form
of long term elevated prices.

This country is in an utter mess period. When our country is all singing all dancing for the people who were born here, then we should consider helping others. When a country cannot help it's own people to an acceptable standard, it's in no position to help others. This in my opinion is one of the main reasons why people are up in arms about this.

it's a mess because they want it to be making too much money giving out the contracts out to their friends for the hotels just follow the money 💰💰💰💰

These young men coming here are not asylum seekers or refugees, they are economic migrants

If I travelled on a boat to another country "Example Japan" they would throw me straight back. No money to keep myself etc.. And rightly After all British People's human rights are fading but no where for us to claim asylum. Free house, money and cheaper energy etc 😏

Some newcomers have been put into a house near me. They're getting everything paid for by the taxpayer. Meanwhile, the rest of us have to struggle through the cozzy livs.

They are all economic migrants.
Not asylum seekers.

So the taxpayer is expected to pay for everybody to swan in?!

I don’t understand why the UK doesn’t have a quota for annual migration numbers and determine which countries have the greatest need and review this every 2 years. Why is it a free-for-all? Immigration doesn’t have to be chaotic!

Valdez- symonds is a open border protagonist.
He imported miss valdez as a migrant, and married her and adopted her name.
He is pro open borders.

As a British tax payer, they ARE NOT my responsibility or my family who all pay tax...why doesn't this guy & everyone else who want them here, take them into their homes & pay for

Why not charter some ferries and send them empty to France to pick up all the people who want to come to the UK ..!! Really .. when is enough .. enough ..?
We are an Island, short of housing, schooling, medical care etc. etc until there is a deterrent when and where will it end ? How about trying to source the makers and transportation of the inflatables that are being used ..? they are not being made in a local garden shed ! and why should France care ? the more they can off load ' anywhere' the less they have to contend with. How about all the charities condemning the UK pick up the tab what £6 m per day and find them a home ?

They do it because if they use the £7000 for a plane ticket to get here they have to use a passport that tells us where to send them back but the boats allow them to ditch their passports in the channel so we cannot remove them easily this is what they pay for a seat on the boats for.
