I love that you got to experience this but it's saddening that Qatar doesn't upgrade people to have that first-class experience when first class is completely empty. If I was the airline I'd upgrade people into first class that they can brag about it to their social circle afterward. It's free marketing if anything.

If Qatar Airways is getting rid of their First Class on all flights, or at least that seems to be their strategy moving forward, Business and Economy, why do they still have the Al Safa First Class Lounge? Apart from the points holders rewards, can Business Class travelers access this lounge and how?

I saw your last Qatar airways post and have now experienced some seriously shady business practices from this airline. My husband and I booked a points flight via American Airlines for our christmas trip in Dec. Qatar separated the tickets and didn’t let us check him in on the flight from singapore to Doha segment even thou I’d had a reserved Q Suite for the two of us for nearly 9 months!!! We even had him checked in from Doha to London (?) go figure! Qatar blamed American Airlines and washed their hands - American said Qatar was rejecting the segment and we know at one point they had accepted the points flight as I’d made seat bookings! So at the last moment they rejected the one segment points flight for one of us. Who does that at Christmas? American re-routed us on Cathay Biz class via Hong Kong and Qatar did nothing. My take home is American Airlines service was truly fantastic! Cathay biz and Hong Kong biz experience is amazing....and Qatar airways - never again! So I’m enjoying your experience from here as I plan never to try it out!
