You can tell his sorrow when he says he almost sounded like Ahkos...

Man, the raw power and emotion when malos says "show me why you're here in this world". Menkin is just fantastic.

This scene makes my soul weep. Malos is such an accurate representation of a lot of people in this world. Who know they have become monsters but are so far deep within what they have become that they see no hope for even themselves. The only hope is that someone will come along will the strength and the will to prove them wrong. Until then even if they know what they do is wrong, they feel it is justified and sadly have fairly compelling and understanding reasons why. I mean Malos does quite literally mean BAD. Its a sad and disheartening place to be in and its represented perfectly in Malos in this scene. Also his friendship with Jin was probably his only form of sanity in it all as he genuinely cared for Jin and was the only person he really even saw as his own brother for better or worse.

"I'm a wretched being, a hideous monster far beyond saving" Man even though Malos has done so many fucked up things, I can't help but feel bad for him

Malos's words in this cutscene age like whine. Everything he says in the whole aion battle and after are just so powerful.

When you procrastinated and you know there's no turning back. A hideous monster, far beyond saving.

The most powerful scene in XC2.

This scene left me really conflicted. Rex et al for the whole game never really understood Malos. They thought he was some form of puppet based off of Amalthus's feelings. However in this scene, I interpret things a lot different. His initial drive for destruction may have come from Amalthus but I think hes far more heavily influenced by Jin. The struggle of jin, the tragedies he had to endure, what the world did to him and sadly the part he played in Jin's tragedy. A mixture of sorrow, guilt and anger along with resentment over a world which simply doesn't change makes him the monster that he is. The fact he also has insight into realising that he is a wretched being too... Loved this scene. In this specific JRPG, I can't help but feel that the villains had a much more convincing story for doing what they did. Its almost as if in the battle of ideologies, Malos & Jin beat Rex.

I also lived his line "and blades become titans.. who gives a rats ass". His way of thinking strips away needless BS and he seems to focus on what he thinks is truly important.

i just realized it depends on who’s name you choose that’s how pneuma stands, if you choose mythra she puts her hand on her hip but if you choose pyra she’s standing straight

When malos encounters rex for the first time, he has his team with him (jin, and nia), while rex was alone. Now in the last encounter, its malos who is alone, while rex have a team with him

not that this is important, just interesting to see how their first, and last encounter are the exact oposite

i said it before 4 years ago

and now that i came here again for nostalgia, i'll say it again: malos VA absolutely slayed his role.

I didn't like Malos before, but I enjoyed the other villains. Then I saw this cutscene and he became one of my favorite characters.
