2:57 Mythra's reaction gets me every single time. You can tell exactly what she's going through there.

In TCG, she was basically the butt of everyone's jokes. Addam and his party cared about her, sure, but the amount of roasting she received from all sides was rough for here. And after accidentally sinking the Tornan titan, indirectly killing Hugo, and seeing the broken look on Mikhail's face, that was enough to break her to the point that she created Pyra to hide behind so she wouldn't hurt anyone again, and to be everything she wasn't. And when she was reawakened, she's incredibly offhandish and defensive, not wanting anyone to get close to her, either through anticipating more verbal abuse, or from not wanting to create another disaster.

But she didn't reckon on meeting someone like Rex. Someone who wouldn't even think of hurting or insulting her. Someone who cared about her just as much as he cared about Pyra. And someone who was willing to do anything to help her, even if it meant fighting a battle that he knew he had little chance of actually winning.

This speech of Rex's is what finally drives it home to her. That there's someone who truly, deeply cares about her, with no hint of sarcasm or insults.

The fact that at the start of the game, Rex can't fend off even Vandham, but at this point he's able to solo Jin for a solid amount of times, matching him swing for swing at some points without even Nia support him. There's no thread there

One of my biggest issues with this game is that it's so hard to hear the character's voices over the music in some cutscenes. There were some parts where I'd have had no idea what was being said if there weren't subtitles.

This cutscene and the awakening of Monado 2 in Xenoblade 1 will always be my favorite cutscenes for they both have the same feel to it.

both party members fighting for their lives against 2 great threats, feeling of hopelessness and then, sad emotional moment, badass one liner and then start the triumphant battle music because new a blade awakened and you the player are just now ready to rock their shit

I think Rex's VA actually does a really good job for most of the game but god it is so frustrating that he can't seem to raise his voice past a certain decibel level. Every time he has to scream it's like he's recording his lines with people sleeping upstairs and he's trying not to wake them up.
