The best kingdom is whatever kingdom I rule, all others quake in fear.

Bohemia is really good. It has lots of counties that have lots of baronies like Plzen and Praha while the middle of it is plains or farmlands and the outside is mountains and hills which can be useful for forts and mines. It is slightly bigger in the 1066 start date because it gains Moravia

Persia is crazy if your culture is Persian or you merge with Persian. Irrigation Experts boosts all of the drylands and desert terrain, which is literally all of your lands, increasing development, making desert agriculture better and give unique building, which gives a rather huge bonus to development.

4:11 I'd argue that East Francia/Germany is **held back** by its counties, that means a lot of Vassels and strong ones at that

If it was split into Swabia, Saxony and the core part of East Francia/Germany into Franconia, Swabia and Franconia would be better than Germany with less Vassel Management (Saxony get's the short end of the stick though, having counties with usually no more than 3 or 4 baronies, no special building and a mid culture overall)

With the Swabian having a decent amount of plains and having Industrious. And of Course Franconia with a decent amount Farmland and special buildings.

Great video, and Bengal is a great suggestion for someone who doesn't usually play in India

I would think Egypt would be better than than you know East Francia because counties count imo doesn’t matter you can’t hold all of them. Egypt would be a better choice with the university in 1066 and great floodplains

Good list with solid picks. I agree with users that mention Egypt and England. Those two are really good as well. But really, East Francia is so underrated by the playerbase it's insane.

Also Hungary is a good shout too as it has around I think 5 farmland counties and a lot of plains which is pretty good and is in a central position in Europe for expansion which I think you could have mentioned more

Corsica and Sardinia is one of my favorites if I want to create a small kingdom and play tall.

There are a few Sami religious kingdoms that are fun, if you can create one quick enough and push back the norse expansion its a really fun game to play.

I think terrain is less of an outright downside and more of a task of adapting your culture to the terrain. One of my best games was as the emirate of Fars, which is basically desert mountains only, and it was absolutely amazing.
Also: Where Mali? Goldmines OP :D

East Francia/Germany is ridiculous. The Kingdom gives you a slice of Europe all the way from Denmark to Italy. The Kingdom is bigger than the dejure Baltic Empire, hence the Empire could not hold it. England is pretty solid Kingdom that isn't mentioned. It is fairly well developed, has about 6/7 duchies and has 4/5 decent cities such as Salisbury, London, Dover, Chester, Winchester and....Gloucester (which is more developed in the 9th century than the 21st century)

If you take out the amount of counties from the criteria Egypt>Mesopotamia. Both have floodplains and good special buildings. But you can have more counties held by yourself with the two duchy limit in Egypt. Cairo and Al-Said. And you can build trade ports in every provinces because of the Nile.

is supply limit even a good thing to have? it seems that it would just make it easier for your enemy to take over your land

I'd be more interested in empires, a bad kingdom still gets you a royal court and makes it easier to hold on to your powerbase, but a bad empire doesn't really have any benefit.

The Kingdom of East Francia/Germany is a huge target for reformed Norse Pagans who would use the Great Holy War CB (both directed & indirected depending on wether the faith has the temporal or spiritual head of faith respectfully) to reclaim the holy site of Paderborn

thessalonika has fewer counties, but almost everyone of those counties has space to have at least 2-3 castles built in (867 start) which can easily become op af, that’s without even holding constantinople.

I would suggest a couple of others:
Bihar (adjacent to Bengal) - isn't huge, but its capital is Maghada, one of the better counties in the entire game. Nalanda University will give you +5 stewardship, making it barely count against your domain limit, and there is a ton of farmland in the provinces around it. If you happen to be the right religion, nearby Gaya has an impressively OP holy building. If you have an eastern religion, you can head south and grab Brihadeeswarar Temple as well for even more bonus stewardship. Also, being on the Ganges River gives you a repeatable decision you can take for extra piety if you have a Hindu religion.

Mann and the Isles is a pain in the ass to form, but is hilarious and powerful when you do (although it was bugged the last time I did it, and it didn't give me all the free building slots it was supposed to). You'll get a huge chunk of renown, and a large special army for forming it, making it a fun kingdom to go for.

Andalusia is also pretty strong, since the Mosque of Cordoba gives you a high base bonus to development in your capital, boosting your realm if you want to be tall.
