For everyone crying “we don’t want random people in the classrooms”
1. That’s already the state of education and subbing right now…. It’s almost like if people were forced to be submerged in that world they would not only understand that but want to fix it… which is the point of the video lol
2. Complaining about people with records only shows you don’t understand the background checks in place for those on jury duty 🤷🏻‍♀️ there are numerous systems in place to make sure certain people don’t sit the trial so I’m not understanding what you aren’t understanding about that 😂
3. Stop with the “well those subs now really like kids and WANT to be there” that’s not necessarily the case. Lots of people right now (not all) are signing up to sub because it’s a guaranteed paycheck with little to no qualification requirements. Again proving my point of “if you HAD to be there and know, you might want to help change that”

Just admit you’re who the video is talking about and call it a day 😂😂😂

The same can be said for if working retail or being waitstaff was a requirement for graduating highschool or something, we’d start to see Karen’s die out a lot faster

Honestly! America needs teachers and doctors. We need both! Both cost a butt load of money for college, and not to mention medical school! But one gets paid a butt load! I mean yeah, it’s so expensive it’s like impossible to pay off. LIKE AMERICA WHY? YOU NEED DOCTORS, AND YOU NEED TEACHERS, AND YOU HAVE TO PAY SO MUCH FOR SCHOOLING!

Mandatory substitute teaching? Soooo, they can't fire me? Terror has just entered the classroom...

I have all the respect in the world for educators! However, I know it's not for everyone - including myself.

My mum is a substitute teacher for years and she said it was terrifying when she’s going to classrooms and how these kids would act.

I think that the kids would suffer from this. If you think subs are bad now, wait until randos from off the street are brought in, not to mention if any of these people might be shady.

Some sort of broad-scale "civic duty by random lottery" probably would be good for society as a whole and subbing is a prime candidate for it.

In my state, you just need a bachelor's degree of any sort to sub. My store manager is getting close to retirement and was looking to pick up a part time job here and there. His friend is on the school board and was complaining about the number of subs available. My mgr is super eager to actually teach something when he's there, not just tell them to sit quietly and read like subs did when we were in school. First time subbing was grade school. No problem, but they didn't warn him it was a special needs class, so he was kinda bummed he couldn't teach the experiment he hoped to as it was too difficult physically for some of the kids and a higher level than the students were being taught. Next time was middle school. Sent 2 to the principal's office, and swore off subbing for that age range ever again. He does ok with the high school kids as some of their older siblings were friends with his own kids in school and he has their parents' numbers memorized. Lol

YES!! Especially politicians and parents. Come and get some first hand knowledge of what’s actually happening. It’s so easy to judge something you have zero first hand knowledge about. And no being a student now or in the past does not count.

My district has 5 subs that always subs and we love them but we need more, one time there was 10 teachers gone that left 5 classes without a teacher. We had to go into other classes during their planing period so we have a room

It's not the teachers that are the problem. It's the school system. Growing up in the 70s and 80s. We respected our teachers our school and our communities.

I’m a student and a subscriber I’m one of the “better” kids I try not to cause unnecessary stress to my teachers but I do see EVERYTHING that you talk about on this channel and agree with most if not all of it including this

petition for it to be waved for children of teachers who grew up and saw how hard their parents jobs were and have that respect already instilled in them.
Source: child of an elementary school teacher and saw first hand how hard his job is because I got to have have him as my teacher.

I work in a school, but not as.a teacher. Teachers and teaching assistants do NOT get enough respect nor pay for all the crap they have to put up with from children and their parents.

I bet if everyone had to be in a classroom as a teacher, they would see that children don't act like angels all the parents think they are as well as deal with hositle children, those wanting/willing to learn, and those who wish they could be anywhere else. I work a small portion of the school day and I am thankful when I can go home.

Respect the work that teachers and teaching assistants are trying to do. Teachers are not suppose to do the job of a parent.

My mom is about to become a preschool teacher. I hope that she won’t have any Susan’s who are like, “ my baby would never”. Hope the education world, parents, and kids are kind to her. Wish people could see that being a teacher is NOT easy

Amen. I honestly believe that anyone who is involved in making education policies should be required by law to substitute once a month, sans bodyguards, in different sections of their represented areas.

I don't think I'd be comfortable with that system. I'd want someone that was teaching me or my future children to have some training/schooling for it.
