Making Amends: Finding Joy Despite Sinful Mockery

Have you come out of a life of sin? We can all relate to Proverbs 14:9-10 that says “Fools mock at making amends for sin, but goodwill is found among the upright.” Our former friends may mock but it’s only because they don’t understand the joy we now have in Christ.

“All of us who have come to Christ from a life of sin can attest to Proverbs 14:9-10. It reads, “Fools mock at making amends for sin, but goodwill is found among the upright. Each heart knows its own bitterness, and no one else can share its joy.” Our former friends tend to mock as they are stuck in their own sin. Rather than realizing the way their sin is hurting them, they turn bitter toward us. This is why Jesus established the Church: goodwill is found among the upright. Those that know this from experiencing it in their own hearts can empathize with you and help you along in your journey. After I realized how much my slavery to sin was hurting me, and I felt it being washed away by the love of Jesus, I cannot express to you the joy in words. I pray it’s something you experience for yourself though, if you haven’t already. Amen, and God bless!”
