Cancer stages go up as homocysteine increases. some people apply the methionine restriction diet to slow increasing homocysteine but its stupy because the main problem is not methionine intake but increasing homocysteine due to some B vitamin deficencies.(like choline/betaine/folat/b2/b6) because these some Vitamin B's lower the homocysteine through re-methylation of homocysteine to methionine back.
so you need to follow strategies how to lower high homocysteine.
there are a few ways to reduce high homocysteine;
1- sulphuration pathway via vitamin b6 (keep in mind that vitamin b6 is activated by vitamin b2)
2- folat pathway (keep in mind MTFHR gene mutation may be accociated with b2 deficiency)
3. betaine(trimethylglysine) pathway (betaine has three methyl groups and it succesfully lower high homocystein by helping zinc and b12 but you need some iron also)
