His death is hilarious by the way, he left his daemon possed armor with a slave he abused to clean and the armor offered its power to her because it got bored of the guy and when she killed him she went on the battlefield as him killing both enemies and allies.

The only thing they found strange was that he was unusually quiet lol.

The Iron Warriors always have those silly moments/characters. One of my favorites has to be when an IW captain said 'Have Faith, Word Bearer' to Kor Phaeron.

Well to say the truth Iron Warriors and Imperial Fists have a noç for cold rage moments as it can be seen in many occsions as they are considered too angry to die. So its not so suprprising to see them fall to rage and focus only on slaughter, hell even Dorn my primarch wished at some point to leave the holo table and join the fight just to kill.

Kroeger was also killed by Ollainius Persson during the battle of verdun when his spirit possessed a german soldier in the trenches. Probably the weirdest bit 40k lore i read so far

This is why Ferrus Manus seen the errors if his ways, yet he and by extension, the Iron Warriors will always be at the mercy of hindsight. In hindsight they shouldn't have been so cold, and apathetic, as well as simply unable to stop hating due to the loss of Ferrus Manus. It's a shame, because Ferrus Manus actually was going to reform the Iron Hands, before the whole Dropsite Massacre thing happened and Gulgrim took Ferrus' head.
