Those people had no idea at that moment how lucky they were to be alive.

The issue here is that pilots are just as human as anybody else. However, the airlines frown on pilots who have to deal with depression on their own. In the 'old' days, pilots would drink heavily on their off days or on layovers. I am a former flight attendant and can verify this statement. Pilots are afraid of asking for help and this exactly what Captain Emerson needed. Airlines - take note!

Its getting scary with sucicidal pilots bent on taking crew & passengers with them. I dont want to risk flying any more

Why was even allowed to be in the cockpit if he was off duty?

Wow ! Kudos to the pilots who averted this potential

👩‍🎤 “Never Forget” Isn’t that what we promised. 9/11 taught us that no one goes in the cockpit except on duty pilots. The cockpit doors stay locked no matter what they here on the other side of the cockpit doors. This airline company became complacent and let someone else in the cockpit. It didn’t matter that he was a pilot. He was off duty. “ Never Forget” we promised them we would “Never Forget.”

Every person we see in this video (besides LE) would have been dead if not for the pilots and flight attendants who took immediate and appropriate action, that day. 😥 😓

I’m looking at these people and praising GOD that they did NOT get the suffering that man intended for them and their loved ones. 😩😩😭😭😩🙏🏽💖 Thank you Jesus.

The trouble with the whole thing is Men don't want to admit they have problems. Every one is Human... The... way this world is going it's wonder it's not worst.

Knowing what happens if the plane crashes goes to show the risk outweighs the time it takes to drive the distance

He's being escorted from the back of the plane though. Since when were cockpits relocated to the rear? ✈️🧐😂😂😂

At least he told them that he needed to be arrested and wanted to be put in hand cuffs since he knew something was wrong but he still almost turned off the engines

Was there intent on crashing and or killing everyone? I don’t think that was what happened here.
German Wings…definitely.
That prick knew what he was going to do to the point he even practiced the procedure on a previous flight.
This one to me is a definite case of mental disconnect brought on by his mental state, lack of sleep and use of magic mushrooms.
He’s still going to be in deep trouble, but I think many of the serious charges will be reduced or dropped in favour of long term treatment for whatever it was that lead to this.

There have been instances of a pilot deliberately crashing airplanes. There was always a mental health problem that slipped through the cracks. People always show some signs. There are also instances of unqualified pilots or even maintainance people being unqualified, but, the airlines are so hard up for people they cut corners. This cannot HAPPEN! think about this also if airlines start talking about diversity hires. I want the best qualified people possible!
