An Aquarium Filter Guide For Planted Tanks

preview_player
Показать описание
In this quick tutorial, we talk about the aquarium filtration in the planted aquarium, discussing the importance of aquarium canister filters as one of the possible off-the-shelf solutions, the different filter types, and much more. Enriched with beautifully planted aquariums as usual.

The question of the day though is how much is 60 x 5? Hint: we said 350 in the video. :)

Some of you have asked about the fish at 0:22, it is Brevibora dorsiocellata.

Seachem Matrix for the Oase Biomaster filters is no longer available.

I got the cheapest, no-name Chinese canister filter I could find for my 40 gallon tank and it has kept trucking for three years. As long as you understand the stages of filtration (mechanical then biological then optional chemical, then back to the tank) any canister filter will work, you don’t need to spend hundreds of dollars.
I just use filter floss then Seachem Matrix in my canister. Simple, cheap, and it works.

Just wanted to add you guys are the gold standard for Aquarium Youtube videos. Keep up the great work. A lot of vloggers videos look terrible especially the ones who sit at their desk and just ramble on and on for their vlogs.

Green Aqua is one of the best aqua channels on YouTube, mainly because of the light hearted but useful content but also because you actually reply to people's questions, thank you!

I love your videos and am learning so much from them. With my first aquascape I have had a number of rookie set backs with lots of algae issues or plants dying off. However, with you help I’m starting to get on top of it and am confident my tank will look good eventually. A good thing is I am already a user of Seachem Matrix and Prime. So it’s nice to have that right! Thanks from Australia

This puts together hours of videos that I've watched on how to start an aquarium the right way with the right equipment, thanks a lot!

Hi Balazs, great informative video. Great to see you recommending different brands whilst being sponsored by Oase. Keep up the great work. All the best, Martin.

Thanks for another great, informative video. Also, if I can chime in on the disagreement with regards to filter media placement within the canister I say this. You guys at Green Aqua do a spectacular job and are clearly very successful with all of your display tanks as  is evident to all of us. Beyond that you share with us how it is done. How anyone can argue or disagree with your method considering your success is beyond me. Who can argue with success? lol....Thanks again!

The room you have with all those high end aquariums is just beautiful. You are living the good life, it must be so relaxing to come to work in that art gallery every day. Keep it up you are one of my favourite scapers.

Love it! I really appreciate videos like this from the Green Aqua team, of course as always they provide great quality videos, but as a consumer/ hobbyist I feel I can trust their content if not categorized as instructional videos but opinion pieces. The Green Aqua channel is the real deal for aquarists! Thanks guys and gals!

With my first planted aquarium, these are my observations.
In the past, the filter was the most important part of the setup. In this aquarium, the plants are the most important part of filtration. I added plants and let them acclimate to the water they found themselves in for a week. Then I added life, snails first....On the first day of the 3rd week, I added fish. What resulted was 0 ammonia, 0 nitrites, and the plants grew like they were infused with Co2. They filtered out anything that can harm life quicker than it could accumulate.
I also modified the filter so that it would be lower flow. That plug in filter is nothing more than something to help move the water around. The plants themselves are doing it all and more than any filter a human can create.
