Euroscola/EYE 02 June 2018

The #euroscola session of 2 June was a very special one!

The 550 participants were particularly lucky, as they had the opportunity to mingle with 8,000 other youth coming in the framework of the European Youth Event #EYE2018. An once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to share their points of view and proposals about the future of Europe and to learn more about the Parlement Européen - Strasbourg one year before the European elections. #EE19 #Thistimeiamvoting 👍👀🔜

As the delegate of the Danish school pointed out: “we want to make an impact because we believe that the youths should have their voices heard. And that starts now”. 💪🤗

The German MEP Rainer Wieland (PPE), Vice-President of the European Parliament welcomed them with these words: “Your role is to take hold of the democracy in this continent, take hold of this project and shake this continent which is yours”.

They worked in committees on the five EYE themes, which represent key issues for Europe's future and society:

📌 rich & poor
📌 apart & together
📌 safe & dangerous
📌 local & global

At the end of the day, participants deliberated and voted "like real MEPs", using the electronic vote system, on their peers' proposals.
