The fact I did not hear of this and felt the impact in the US and Europe throughout the year, is telling of how horrible media coverage is these days....

You don't mention about the huge volumes of water thrown up and into not only the Tropopause but up and into the Stratosphere. This will have a big affect on raising humidity as well as having heating and cooling affects.

You are the only non-Polynesian channel I've found that has not totally butchered the names. Respect 💯

As far as I've followed this volcano's explosion was 1/5 the power of Krakatoa's explosion. This information is in the records of the American Institute of Volcanology

Tongans have been witness to several volcanic eruptions such as this in the past few millennials that the tongan archipelago has been inhabited. In fact, there's a tsunami rock on the west coast of tongatapu that looks like it got hurled out from the seabed and right onto dry land several meters from the shoreline.

VERY significant, and extremely cataclysmic, I would put it on the same scale as ALL of the nuclear bombs together tested in that South Pacific area, but without the radiation, my heart goes out to Tonga and all the islands in this area

Over 500 ft underwater. And it sent a plume over 57 kilometers high. This blast was just as powerful or even more powerful than the 1883 blast of Krackatau. Maybe once in 500 or more years does the planet experience something like this.

Volcanic eruptions, earthquakes etc... really can't be predicted. Mother nature occasionally reminds us that we just live here while she's in charge

5:46 It shot its steaming load 36 miles into the sky huh? 🤣 I like your style. Make it taboo and just a little sleazy and your students will remember it for the rest of their lives. 😁😁😇

We here in the northwest woke up with a fine white ash covering our cars during this time with no forest fire going on . I’ve seen this one other time and that was when Mount Saint Helens went off and we had about 1 inch of gray white ash cover everything in western Montana .

So far, more Snow than usual here in Cincinnati Ohio. I'd also like to add that the day it blew, was on my dad's birthday. Everyone outside for the party Heard and Felt the Sonic Boom and the Pressure Wave the came through. Everyone's ears all popping and Felt like we were way up in the air!

Wait till we see what effects it has on this winter! (really hoping I'm wrong, but history seems to show a different pattern when that much gunk & gasses get hurled so incredibly high ...)
