Truly said. Gotta work hard whether or not you have talent, thats the way you’ll strive! And if you have talent, utilize it and bring out your maximum potential with it, don’t let it go to waste!

I might sound a bit off but trust me there is nothing called as talent. There is always an interest that is created in a person depending on the sureounding that the person is brought up. Once the person gets interest in a thing the person keep trying to get good at it and when the person masters it and when people see it they say "Oh wow he/she has natural talent to do that thing!!! " But honestly it was the person's interest, observations and hard work that lead to it.

Wow, I'm a hare, who is napping, and I see my tortoise friends getting ahead of me in life.. and I cheer them on. Because as Vinh said at the end, it's not about surpassing others. It's about improving myself. And I've learnt that instead of racing others and facing a burnout, it's better to go at my own pace.

People without natural talent have no choice but to beat themselves to go further then they naturally could. They do this by putting more effort into observation and developing their creativity to somehow make things work. This gives them a better understanding of the situation and the structure surrounding it.

As an entrepreneur, I can tell you this is 100% accurate. You guys should talk about the difference between intelligence and work ethic. I’ve met several people much smarter than I am, but I was willing to put in the work.

As a musician/actor/artist, I was called a 'waste of talent' when younger though I also worked to put food on the table for my brother and I growing up in an abusive household unbeknownst to anyone. Not knowing who I was in the world after only knowing survival for myself and others, I was only able to direct my expressive talents after coming to know myself, by myself - then, everything expanded and continues to. My heart may wrench, but I step forward and proceed to the next inhale/exhale as these emotions are also an expression of a reaction to life's experiences~
Keep stepping forward, be the paradox of discipline and expression, be the individual part of the collective, as we are all alone but alone together. The world is Change itself, and you cannot change Change, yet we can step forward together.

I was "naturally gifted" in academics for a long time. Throughout middle school and some of highschool my grades were amazing with little effort and I got used to that. But soon natural skill wasn't enough and my grades began to drop and because I had absolutely no work ethic and wasn't used to actually putting in effort to by studies I had a hard time getting them back up again. There were also students who I never really considered "smart" or academically gifted at all and they were able to keep consistently average grades throughout their highschool career.

What Vinh said makes so much sense, should not only lean on your natiral talent but also keep developing skills and keep it consistent. 💖

This touches on "gifted" kids in school, who are satisfied by getting an A- or B on a test without studying; vs the "non-gifted" kids, who had to study and practice extremely hard on the concepts, etc, to get a good grade during school. When both type of people (gifted and non-gifted) transfer to college, the gifted child, on average, hasn't been conditioned very well to studying or practicing because things came naturally to them; while the non-gifted person is simply having to do what theyve been doing (studying, practicing, etc...), just at a higher level than before.

60 seconds of this = 60 pages of book reading. WORTH IT.

Not only does natural talent give you a head start, I think it also gives you a higher performance ceiling. Two people can put in the same amount of work and the person with the natural talent will almost certainly perform better at the given task

That’s actually really true, btw the reason gifted kids often do badly in the long run is cuz in earlier grades they can just use their intellect to get past easily, and they don’t end up learning the skills to study, so then in the future the end up worse since they dont have these skills.

Perfect way to put this. There are *some* talents that you can't make up for with hard work, music for example, but in the majority of fields it is just a tortoise and hare situation and putting in the hours will make up for any lack of "talent" that you have.

I just wanna give a simple example but this guy just give it before me.

Natural talented people are actually real, you can't deny that.

I always say that natural talent is like an EXP multiplier in the videogame: it's useless by itself if you don't actually farm the experience points.

Depends on the natural talent you have. Some r born with full package. Some has to earn it. Some has to work hard. I am considered naturally talented but I don't have work ethics and doesn't work hard but my talent alone enough to keep me going. On the other hand my.own brother is as tale Ted as mine and works really hard and now he is a white color executive in a top company. So talent plus hard work brings you success. But success is relative to each person. So it you who choose what best for you and how ro achieve your goal...

Idk i believe that everyone has equal potential. Its not about the talent or hardwork.
Its about putting your heart into something.
If you do something just for the sake of it, you wont accomplish much.

But if you love that goal, and question stuff and love understanding it then you can definitely succeed.
There is a saying
If there is a will there is a way.
And that saying exists for a reason
