The cryo vision is given to people that feel unloved/not enough. The ice they use represents how they feel as a person. Cold.

I get a feeling that cryo resembles contradiction. Diona hates alcohol, yet she can create the best drinks.
Kaeya loves mondstat, yet he’s a spy for kanrieah,
chongyun is an exorist, yet demons won’t come near him
Rosaria is a nun, yet she can’t even remember Benadryls name.
Ayaka is a high social figure, yet she can’t socialize with people.
Eula is a knight of favonius, yet she’s also part of an aristocratic ancestry.
Ganyu is both human and adeptus, trying to fit into both lives.
Qiqi is a zombie, contradicting the balance of life and death.
Quite frankly I’m not certian with shenhe but I’m assuming it’s something like, she’s a human yet she lives like an adeptus or knows their arts or something
This whole thing eventually ends at the cryo archon, as stated by tartaglia “she waged war with the world, in hopes for peace”
Every cryo character has something that contradicts with themselves, and it’s pretty sad

The way Kaeya talks about Diluc in his voice lines he doesn’t say it in any way nor seems upset or angry with Diluc he honestly sounds like he feels guilty and misses his company and how they acted as kids. There’s one point in the game Kaeya asks Diluc if he wants to go play like the old times when they were kids and Diluc seems shocked at this but also seems like he misses Kaeya too. In one of Diluc’s voice lines, he says "You can only trust Kaeya only half of the time" probably a nod to how Kaeya lied to him his whole life about being his brother but we do know that Kaeya does, and still thinks of him as his brother. In one of Kaeya’s voice lines, he lies that he’s not lonely, there are two reasons that make this important one, he lies about this, something he did as a child at the age of 1. Two, this shows he still misses Diluc and his father’s company and probably his friends too but ever since they both fought their relationships with other people seem to be lost over time.

Kaeya was abandoned by all of the people he saw as family

Diona’s father became an alcoholic, and is no longer there for her as he once was

Eula is from a family which has been completely rejected by mondstadt, and no matter how hard she tries to redeem herself, she will never truly be respected by its people.

Ganyu is constantly working nonstop, and she rarely has any free time, so she has very very few friends, and even less time to spend with the handful she does have. She was also… just, raised by a whole ass bird

Qiqi was on the brink of death when she was revived as a zombie by the gods. She can no longer remember important things, and she cannot grow old or die.

Shenhe was abandoned by her village as a sacrifice.

Chongyun can never be a great exorcist like his family, due to his pure Yang energy. No matter how hard he tries, he will scare off spirits before he even knows they’re there.

Rosaria was stolen from her home by bandits who killed off the rest of its people. She was raised by them, and learned to fight and thieve- all while still a child. She firmly believes she is meant to be in the dark while everyone else bathes in sunlight.

Aloy.. Is from a completely different world, forced to live in a world that is nothing like her own.

Most of the saddest stories are from the games cryo users, and I think it’s really telling. (Ofc there’s others that are rlly depressing but aren’t cryo, though)

Diona’s story is. Particularly realistic and hits the most hard personally, right next to kaeyas and qiqis.
