Kentaro Miura has one of the greatest legacies in the history of manga, and much like his life's work - Berserk - the story of his life is one of tragedy. This is the life of the greatest manga artist to ever live.

It’s crazy how someone can come up with something so horrific and inspirational at the same time. Rest in peace

As a ff14 player, I saw how everyone equipped the dark knight job and standing in lines as a vigil to miura death, will never forget that sight

It is just truly heartbreaking for a man to put his entire soul and body into making what many people consider a masterpiece, for over 30 years, and pass before seeing it come to an end. It’s a shame we will never see Miura’s ending for berserk, but I can’t help but be happy we will at least see AN ending.

Literally no one else BUT Mori could finish it. And we truly are blessed that he is finishing his lifelong friend’s masterpiece. Personally I think the new chapters are really damn good and I am just so glad we are getting them.

I found out about Miura's passing during the first hour or so it was coming out. I was going through an extremely rough time and just started my first day at a job I got hired for. When I had arrived home, I received a notification from a YouTube channel reporting it and... to this day I've never felt such an impact. Miura was just one man amongst billions others, but it was (and still is) hard knowing that the world is missing that one man...

Considering the history between Miura and Mori, it really can't be left up to anyone else. The fact he told that very same person the entire story can be no better indication (and the fact that Muira did in fact know the conclusion, but the level of work behind it was the only hinderance). He didn't compromise, so you have to give him that.

That "chatper" 164, 5 my Mori is maybe the best single piece of art i ever witnessed. Also that the man who partially inspired Guts finishes the story is poetic in its own way. Beautiful video, i cried.

Every time I stumble across any sort of tribute to Miura on the internet I have to lay back on my chair and close my eyes for a moment. Berserk has, for the longest time of my life, been a beakon to continue walking in the midst of the uncertainty of my life. I have wanted to give up so many times, and in a sense I had, but It's incredible to me how the right story, the right words at the right time can save you. I don't know sh*t about anything anymore, but I always end up going back to that place, that work of hope Miura created. It's not about "getting there where you wish to be", to me it's about the dignity of surviving another day: one more day at the time. Thanks for the video, it's beautiful.

Not only was he an amazing person but he had an amazing friendship. I can only imagine trusting someone with my greatest work of art to finish it if I pass. It not only shows their friendship but how deep their understanding of each other was to know that the other would stay true to their friends deepest ideas.

After watching most of this so far the only thing i can think of is he had cancer and didn't want to disclose it. He had time to teach people to draw in his style with such foresight it seems too uncanny

Miura’s passing hurts so much it’s heartbreaking that he didn’t get to live long enough to finish the series because he had so much more story to tell, but I’m grateful to Mori for continuing his masterpiece and I know that while it won’t be the same, he’s going to do the story and Miura the justice it deserves, I can’t wait for what comes next

On the day of his passing, the internet came together in a way I had never seen it before. For a few weeks after, I was seeing, "R.I.P. Miura" everywhere: comments on news channels, anime channels, every Berserk video I saw, even an ASMR comment section. The world mourned the loss of Miura sensei. The tragedy of the man not having the time to finish his masterpiece still saddens me to this day.

I was there on the discord server.. All the voice channels were at capacity and the overwhelming outpour of support /grief /sadness by the news of his passing shocked us all so much that we all started sharing stories of how we found solace and strength in Miura's Masterpiece that is Berserk.

RIP -K.Miura

Man you outdid yourself again this time. The storytelling was even better, and I learned so much about Miura and Mori. I didn't even realize it was THAT Mori, Holyland is another GOAT. Solid job man, you're easily the best manga channel around

really like the narrative you presented here. if Miura likened himself unto Griffith and Mori unto Guts; it's the most fitting end for Mori to take over the story with Miura's passing. great vid once again; editing is great as always 👍

I remember being depressed for a week straight when it happened, I never felt so sad for a person I didn't know closely. i sat every night to read, theorize and remember him and i still do.
While a friend showed me the golden company movies for the first time about a year before Miura died and recommended the old 25 chapter series, I ignored his advice and went straight into the manga finishing it in about 1½ weeks.
Going back to it hundreds of time to check small details and zoom in on the big art scenes taking it all in.
Miura will always live in my soul, if there's something I will treasure forever is his work and existence.
No story has touched me so deeply ever since.

Beserk is still in safe hands. Fortunately someone who knows the gravity and importance with extremely close ties has taken the reins.
