Here's a fun (or maybe not so fun) tree fact:
The oldest tree we've ever found was a ~5, 000 year old (there's been some varying accounts for the exact age, it was at least 4, 862 years old according to most recent estimates) Great Basin Brittlecone Pine tree named Prometheus. Unfortunately, the extent of the age of Prometheus wasn't discovered until a researcher who was looking into the ages of the trees cut it down (there's been varying accounts as to the reasoning behind the decision because, believe it or not, no one wants to be responsible for cutting down the world's oldest tree).
On a more positive note, the world's oldest currently living tree, Methuselah, is currently 4, 856 years old! So, it's creeping on up on Prometheus' record!

17:50 apparently the walking palm doesn't actually walk. It's an old myth that has been widely spread, but in 2005 a Biologist named Gerardo Avalos in Costa Rica studied the tree and found that while roots do die off sometimes, the main trunk of the tree and root system don't move over time.
