One of the game's endings backs this theory up. In the ending where Karen falls in love with you she ends up passing years later. The player character tries everything he knows to keep her alive and can't understand why it's not working. It's because she isn't possessed by the Baba Yaga.

I'd love a deeper dive on raspberry. They seem particularly cold and resentful towards the player. Even threatening at times. I'd love a theory as to why they in particular hate you so much when the others go along with cabin life

I had a thought; it seems to be implied that for someone to move on after they died in the cabin, every last piece of their body needs to be consumed. Meaning that the remains of the chompetts are still in the cabin unconsumed. Kind of makes sense when you remember that Karen was chomping on the remains of her friends in the basement. Potato at one point also mentions that eating him would cause you to be deathly ill. Does that mean he’s referring to his actual corpse still in the basement, rotted beyond belief?

Fun Fact: In Poland around year 1952 there was a serial killer called The Butcher of Niebuszewo (which is similar to "Butcher from Zakopane").
He was executed by hanging. I found it interesting because somewhere in the game a chair appeared with a rope above it.

I've also seen someone say that when the MC's fingers and toes go numb that it's a side effect of mad cow disease, and cannibals often get it.
