I have to say as both an old fan and old man, the best way to appreciate an old band is listen to entire old albums. That's how we did it in the days when bands had loyal followings. The odd track in isolation is a modern way of listening. Trust me, get an old album, and listen to it in entirety.

Iron Maiden today, has three guitarists, that switch to playing lead & solos. Listen to Hallowed Be Thy Name, The Trooper or Number of the Beast to really hear Bruce's vocals. He's called the human air raid siren for a reason.

One of my favorite bands. Saw them first time in 1990 when I was 15, I will never forget it. I know you first listen to the studio versions, but do some live stuff as well. Fear of the Dark live in Chile 2011.

Saw the lads for the first time at the 1980 Reading Rock Festival, with first singer Paul Di Anno. Coincidentally, Bruce Dickinson was also present with his former band Samson. Saw maiden again in February 1981 as openers for Kiss (Brussels Forest National) and again at the 1981 Reading Rock Festival with again their first singer and AGAIN with Samson with Bruce in attendance. The next time I saw Maiden was at the 1982 Reading Rock Festival with "new" singer Bruce Dickinson and saw Iron Maiden at least once a year since then. Every tour they've done when they came to Belgium, I was there and got the tickets and/or back-stage- security passes to show for. Saw over a thousand different bands between 1975 and tomorrow. I'm right now preparing my GoldWing to go to GrassPop Metal Meeting where I saw them last year (for the 50th time!) and I already have a ticket for their concert in Antwerp at the SportPaleis (sportd palace, 13 July 2023) where I can walk to since I live within a 100 meters from the place. Cheerio Lad. Congratulations on discovering the greatest rock band of all times. Greetings from Belgium from an "old" geezer.

Iron Maiden spearheaded the New Wave Of British Heavy Metal movement in the late 70s. Another influential band to check out was Diamond Head. They never got super popular, but Metallica loved them. Lars crashed on their couch for a while as he followed the band around. Metallica covered 5 of the 7 songs on their first album (although one was only on bootlegs).
