GT7 is insanely better in PSVR2 despite the flaws.

You're right about the lack of race information in VR, but the immersion of VR is just so incredible that i'm never going back to flatscreen racing again. GT7 in VR even got me into sim racing. I'm hoping for an update that will fix this, but it's nowhere near a showstopper for me personally.

Couple of decent points but really depends on level youre at, myself as high B driver im not being restricted by lack of full HUD, names. or rev count in certain cars. At my level PSVR2 helps me get quicker by just feeling car better. And provides immersion that keeps me wanting to drive more and more, unlike going on TV. Ive got much bigger problems with driving than revs :D

I can understand that being A+ driver, the way it is - does interfere with the speed you can drive. And it is sort of unfair that such simple thing cannot get implemented, or this 1 button HUD hide. Playes should have choice between full immersion and full HUD.

And i hope the framerate and the quality will get slightly better with release of ps5 pro.

Anyway, putting aside all the pros and cons, for me GT7 in VR is the best sim racing experience ive had, whoever has got a chance to buy it - you definitely should

I agree they need to update the HUD, but never raced online until PSVR2, i just feel more confident with it.

I only play in VR and have turned all HUD stuff off.. it's the most realistic for me...

use more light in a room when using VR
helps it not loose positioning

Actually, I think you are the only one criticizing Psvr2. Keep doing it maybe they will listen.

In PSVR2, you see track nuances, subtle cambers in turns, humps and dips, etc. In 2D, it's a video game where you train your muscle memory through trial and error, and have to infer the nuances. E.g. in 2D, you might lose the backend in some sweeper due to a wee lift, and you don't know what the heck happened, but you just don't do that again. In VR, you can see a bump or swell. Man, I tried LeMans in 2D with bonnet cam after hours in PSVR2, and I felt almost blind. I couldn't believe how different the track looked.
I agree with everything you said about needing options for the other metadata.
By the way, I adjust my visor sweet spot so it's pretty low in the field of view so that apexes and curbs get most clarity. Since that's where I'm mostly looking, the lack of clarity elsewhere doesn't bother me as much, with exception of the abrupt change to the back of cars as you catch up to them. It pulls me out of the immersion.
Thank you for your content. Keep up the good work!

I just wish the HUD was completely customizable. The elements available and where they are placed on the screen.

After playing GT7 on PSVR2 with no HUD at all, I'm never going back to regular 2D mode.

100% agree and a great video again many thanks. I will not do an endurance race with my VR set that needs pit stops, as you have no idea if the other cars have pitted or need to.

racing on A in vr absolutely no Problems. I like using the rev counters or shift lights from the car.

My dude, not everyone is trying to be top 100 or even top 100k in the world. I race in a private league where 90% of us race in VR2. Sure, a quality of life update with driver/race info would be nice, but we are all on a discord chat where we even have race commentary, so there's ways around it.

What we need is PS VR to Lobby's only time in pcvr that way we all have to check our rearview to see how far the person is behind us or they can have somebody in the pit in our ears telling us how far the car is ahead of us or behind us like other games the graphics are awesome too don't let him fool you it's still a mind-blowing experience every time I load up

I’m a new user to PSVR2, and find it to be definitely more immersive…I’m actually a bit faster in VR and not have a rev limiter doesn’t bother me…it would be nice to have a delta, info and other names however, I just have to plan my strategy prior to the race and go with Plan A or B, depending on the flow…it doesn’t hinder my experience and I don’t think I’m missing out - Keep up the great work

I'm not a competitive driver in GT7 but the first thing I noticed was the lower framerate and picture quality in VR compared to 2D mode. It's just a much smoother experience in 4k 2D 120hz. The missing bars/stats overlays are a ridiculous flaw indeed. It should be so easy to fix.

Hi, I respectfully disagree. I only play in PSVR2. My PS5 isn't even connected to a TV. I appreciate what you are saying, but the VR is all about immersion. It is not the same as flat screen (and a toggle button would just lead to fomo, imho - you'd have to use it). Personally I would be disappointed if revs were integrated.

@polyphony come on let's get this fixed

I completely agree. I have PS VR2 and only use it for fun in offline races.

You cannot use it in a competitive online race.

8:00 So thats why you have issues lol. Isnt that a selfmade issue to begin with, sitting way higher in the car than you actually should? Like your head is even above the windshield, literally raising the question of if you have ever driven any car iRL? Because you dont have to move your entire head down to see the RPM Indicator if you were sitting in a correct position to begin with.
NVM, just forget what i said here. I also tried PSVR2 and also had an issue with that, but more like because of the PSVR2 not having good lenses and eyetracking not working at all.
Basicly i was able to seat in a way to see the racetrack sharp.. but the RPM and speed sensors werent sharp and hard to look at due to lack of eye tracking and the sweetspot of that VR Headset beeing too small.
Have already returned my PSVR2 to the vendor, its like i take my glasses off, it looks like im not wearing my glasses, its super unsharp and the focus of forveated rendering due to the lack of eyetracking in GT7 pissed me off.
