You should have gone for a super viscous fluid, like... Glue. And maybe have it come up from beneath the block instead of the top.

Sculk catalysts are my favorite blocks in 1.18

But... doesn't sculk catalyst overide only a small amount of blocks, I am sure unbreakable blocks like command blocks aren't a thing, same with buttons, where did that even go?
