Imagine accidentally draining an ocean by just breaking a block that has a mineshaft under it

If they ever add proper water physics it could make water an actual threat in some situations, which could be a kinda cool mechanic tbh

The water physics in Terraria being able to flood caves is exactly what originally attracted me to that game, after being an avid player of early Minecraft. Love it when a game lets you play around with water flow and drain volumes until each other.

That fact that air gets trapped in the caves too made this even better.

All this needs is a water cycle. Rivers could generate after the world does, starting from glaciers and carving through lower areas.

Interesting fact. In real life, the water can flow thru most types of stone, because its porous. If it was real physics, in this setup the caves would flood even without the opening. There needs to be a clay layer between the sand/gravel layer and the stone layer for keeping the caves under the water dry.

This makes me realize I'd love water levels. Like imagine puddles you walk through, could be used to make temples and aquatic themed worlds that let you walk through water without slowing down

Man I have such good memories involving finite liquids. Mined up from a ravine into an enclosed swamp and the entire thing drained into it. Was such an incredible sight to see in minecraft.

That feels like the way it should be happening, just imagine how awesome it would look to have random water holes around the oceans and lakes and below them would be massive submerged cave systems with heaps of loot.

I miss the Finite Water mod. That was the one and only mod I ever used or cared about. It made water management far more interesting, rather than the 8block extention or w/e. Rain would fill holes and you could pump it elsewhere, etc.
