The former Three Mile Island power plant will restart the unit 1 nuclear reactor as part of a deal with Microsoft, the Constellation Energy Corporation announced Friday morning. The unit 1 reactor was shut down five years ago due to economic reasons. The restart comes as Microsoft signed a 20-year deal with Constellation to provide power for Microsoft's data centers. The agreement paves the way for what the companies are calling the Crane Clean Energy Center. Constellation says they expect the refurbished power plant to be online in 2028. #ThreeMileIsland #NuclearReactor #Microsoft #ConstellationEnergy #CraneCleanEnergyCenter #NuclearEnergy #DataCenters #CleanEnergy #EnergyDeal #PowerPlantRestart #SustainableEnergy #2028Online #RenewableEnergy

I really dont see a problem with this, nuclear energy has probably become one of the safest forms of clean energy in the world and people fear it purely due to that word “nuclear” and the issue it had in the 1950s-80s without realizing… we are not in that time period anymore.

nuclear is more safe and productive than any other type of energy and it has only gotten better. Don’t think for a second they did not update everything to make sure that will not happen again. And with current technology we now create less waste than ever before and we now can renew the wast more than ever before and on top of that it will give so much in jobs and local businesses I’m really excited for this.

And the best example that this works is France 🇫🇷 where nearly 70% of there power is nuclear and they did not have a single problem
