Edit June 2024: try the *uBlock Origin* Extension if you cannot get ads to stop. Switching to Firefox or any non Chromium based browser should allow stopping ads to continue to work after Manifest V3 rolls out. (If you don't know if you browser uses chromium, or what Manifest V3 is use a search engine and find out)

Video Instructions:
Make sure to update your script when it prompts you to. Also reinstalling the script every now and then does wonders to keeping it working.

TLDR Instructions for those who don't want to watch the video:

1. Disable your adblock on youtube (yes this is required)
2. Install Tampermonkey (links in video description or just google it)
4. Click on the: button
5. In the new page click on the install button.
6. Restart the browser
7. Enjoy an ad free youtube

I wouldn't mind watching the ads if they were limited to the start of a video. But running ads every few minutes during a video is super annoying.

Gradience-

I will never support a platform that not only suppresses free speech but opposing opinions. Not to mention discriminatory behaviour to those who struggle with creating ad revenue and their search algorithm proves that.
Apart from that I wouldn't mind allowing ads for content creators. Anyway, thanks for this solution for now.

The double ads have been getting on my nerves lately and you my guy, just helped us from preventing YouTube from going full on 1984

Thanks a million man. The only very small issue though which is no issue at all is that the screen goes black where ads normally would show, but it just cuts right past it. This is fantastic.

The unskippable, >30 second, back to back ads are the reason why I use ad blocker. I would not use anything if YT went back to 2010-2012 era. I have had ads longer than the main video itself. And it's more annoying on smart TV cuz it is harder to fetch the remote each time and manually scroll to the X button/skip button to start the actual video. Mind you, these are multiple minute ads! Entire music videos and shows show up as ads. Can be skipped after 30s, but if you don't skip, it keeps running for 30 minutes...
