Also YouTube: allows ads that are grossly misleading, sexual content, scams, click farms, etc.

YouTube: **makes ads insufferable by forcing 99% of 30 second ads to be unskippable, forcing double ads at the start, middle, and end of videos, and placing ads that shouldn't be ads (like hour-long movies) in videos, being COMPLETELY aware that people hate how they're done**

I think what I find funniest about this whole situation is that if Youtube hadn't gone and made their advertisements outright egregious (multiple minute long unskippable ads) I wouldn't have ever downloaded an Ad Blocker in the first place, let alone the fact that their 'three strikes' idea is what actually *caused* me to go out and seek this workaround for it.

Back when it was like 30 second ads and I could skip whenever I didn't even *have* an ad blocker because I didn't mind the slight inconvenience of just closing an ad every now and again during a video. But now that they've gone and made them such hassles to deal with it's no wonder people are going around.

I knew this would ultimately turn into an arms race between content blockers and YouTube. uBlock being at the forefront of the arms race makes sense since they're known for being the best ad blocker.

Meanwhile here in Europe YT's adblock-block is not allowed because YT is not allowed to invade our privacy by checking if we are using an adblocker. Sometimes regulations are good.

I literally never even considered blocking ads for anything until youtube crossed the line these past few years. It's not even a well run service anymore, but shoutout to youtube for allowing it's algorithm to recommend a video on how to bypass its own ads for us.
