can we just appreciate both of these amazing artists? they have their own unique styles, and that’s what makes the so wonderful. they have something in common, too - the ability to inspire others with their art!

The most painful feeling in art was drawing something really great, erasing it to make it a bit better and making it worse again and again. It was true pain.

The chaotic holder of his enemies skull and the wholesome pun filled artist is a collab I need

that’s why i love having my digital process recorded. that way i can see all the steps, without getting rid of my precious undo button

As a digital and traditional artist: line work is so much harder to control when doing it digitally. You don't have the same friction and direct sight with the drawing. I agree with this for digital painting though :)

actually, i find the "draw, undo, draw, undo" process very theraputic. it makes me feel extra satisfied knowing my art is exactly how i envisioned it

My mum actually made me a poster of a steamboat and she said “sorry if it’s a little bit wonky”, and I told her that “the wonkiness is the best part”, and now I feel like I finally understand art!

“It should be anything but perfect” draws a perfect masterpiece

I love Sam! He’s insane when it comes to digital art, even thought I myself prefer traditional

The most important thing I was ever taught in a music theory class, is that "perfect" does not mean "flawless." It means "complete" :)

I find the undo button and layers relaxing. Those things let me experiment with weird and peculiar ideas more freely. : )

I especially like using layers because it’s fun to see how the picture changes with different kinds of additions/omissions. Textures, colour, objects… anything.

I do traditional art but there is a different sort of playfulness in digital art.

(Plus, it’s nice to draw with ”charcoal” without having to deal with the charcoal dust.)

My art teacher used to cut the erasers off of all our pencils and say that there are no mistakes in art(best teacher i have ever had he was genuinely passionate about art and teaching us)

I love digital art, don't get me wrong. But when I draw I feel so pressured to make it look all perfect and pretty, and it can be really stressful. But when I'm just doodling in my school notebooks, it feel so much more freeing, and I think it's because I cannot take back anything because I just doodle straight away with pen, no pencil outlines. Some of my favorite pieces have been the little notebook doodles I've done and I think it's because I just...go for it. I've started trying to do that with my digital art too, just going in without a sketch and just going for it, and it's resulted in a lot of pieces I like so much more.

You can't just reassure us that it is okay not to make "perfect" art and proceed to make perfect art, Scott!
