In this video, Dr. Berg talks about saturated fats and gives some reasons why they are healthy if taken in an organic, grass-fed way. It was found that unsaturated fats in the form of vegetable oil nearly doubles the rate of death compared to saturated fat. There are several healthy fats including:
Caprylic
Lauric
Palmitic
Butyric

These fats are involved in cellular membranes (50% of the fat makes up these structures) These fats help bones absorb calcium, they help give the raw materials for making hormones, and are essential for the immune system.

This dude looks soooo healthy for his age. His skin is clear, virtually no wrinkles, clear thinking, intelligent, healthy weight. They say if you want to achieve something get advice from someone who has already achieved that thing! Look at this dude! This is a great person to get health advice from in my opinion!

I genuinely feel better cutting out vegetable oils and switching to butter. I also cut out almond milk and switched to raw goat milk.

Since I’ve started consuming saturated fat on a daily basis, my mental health has never been better. It is actual brain food. Amazing.

Right before this I watched a so-called expert on CNN saying we need to reduce saturated fats - and in 9 full minutes, he didn't say one time WHY or HOW. It's no wonder a lot of people don't trust doctors. Dr Berg, thank you for bring REAL information to us.

15 years i've been trying to assimilate how the body works in relation to how what we eat affects us. Wish now i'd found Dr Berg way back. Superb. Thankyou.

There are four myths out there, which I wish everyone would be aware of. If this information was widely embraced, it would markedly improve the health of most people on the planet:

Myth# 1: You need high carbohydrate intake to fuel your body.
Truth: Carbohydrates are NOT a necessary fuel source. High intake of refined carbohydrate sources, which lack high fiber, exacerbates insulin resistance which is behind the obesity epidemic, and many other metabolic problems.

Myth #2: Eating frequently is a must.
Truth: Eating frequently is not only unnecessary, but it is harmful, and contributes to insulin resistance which is behind the obesity epidemic, and many other metabolic problems..

Myth #3: Saturated fats are bad for you.
Truth: Saturated fats are innocuous, and can possibly be beneficial

Myth #4: Exercise is pivotal to losing weight
Truth: Exercise, while important to maintain good health and vitality, has a negligible effect on weight. To lose weight, focus on the diet. No amount of exercise will undo poor dietary habits.

I knew that saturated fats are healthy all the time. Few thousand years ago(apart from the mediterranean region) everyone ate it and was healthy. Heart attacks and seed oils are correlated. Crisco enters the market in 1911. First documented heart attack happens in 1912. A coincidence? Of course not.

You are Right.Eating Fatty Ribs or Bacon won't hurt with Vegetables...
But once you put sweet BBQ, French Fries, Potato Salads, Garlic Buttery Bread, sweet yams casserole as a combined side dish--- that's when the bad problems begin to happen.

Today acctually I was learning about this at school and I was very upset when they said that saturated fats cause artery plaques and heart attacks

Great info! I would also like to add that saturated fats cannot be oxidized! Rancid, oxidized vegetable oils are low in nutrition and high in free radicals that scavenge the body and steal electrons from healthy cells, causing damage. This is why it's important to have quality vegetable oils such as cold pressed, extra virgin olive oil in a dark container and eat more saturated fats instead. Thanks Dr. Berg :)

Hey Dr Berg, thanks so much for this info! Wondering- even if you are consuming healthy saturated fats and maintaining low carb diet, is there a recommended gram amount for saturated fat a day not to go over? Also, does consuming high quantities of saturated fat get dangerous past the 50g of carbs/day mark, or is it over 100g/day that it becomes troublesome?

Since I stopped eating fried foods… my health improved so much, I eat lots of butter and animal fats. I stay the heck away from “veggie” oil.

Ever since I started eating more saturated fats, sugar and proteins and less carbs, my mood and mental health improved massively, and I finally started gaining some weight

Thank you so much Dr. Berg. You have validated the way I naturally eat and am very healthy at age 76!!! The "internet squad" blocked your link for health-related topics so we can't view them. Hopefully you are still around and send info to your mailing lists?
