I'm 15 years old and have wanted to learn SFM for a while. These tutorials really help. I now know how to do simple animations, use different rigs, import models from different games and more. These are the best tutorials on YouTube!

This entry was particularly helpful to me. It hit the very point that I was trying to figure out (Camera transitions). Top job, sir.

This is a very easy tutorial to understand and learn, even for non-English native speakers (such as myself). I'd give this guy a medal right away.

"It stops me from being able to create a gap, now all the gap frames are at the end. That's because the SFM is automatically collapsing time, we added this because we were constantly getting black frames between the frames and we decided it was just better..."

Son,
That's why Black-holes.

Last tip = best tip!
Would be a real tragic shame to get to making, well, a top-movie and then forget to safe it, discovering later all ya hard work's gone DX

So I have a habit of not saving my SFM work until I'm finished with the whole project.
So whenever you say "And remember to press Control S to save you work" I was like: Ooh, can't forget that.

It seems as if a lot of people think that this is going to be some super-easy intuitive program. It wont. If you want to make a nice looking SFM, your going to have to spend a lot of time practicing, plus a lot more. 3D animation of any sort is super time consuming, and requires a lot of patience.

I still have no idea what I'm doing....

Confusing and hard at first, but not impossible. I recommend taking simple notes on certain shortcuts and their purpose so you don't forget later on, if you keep forgetting the information.

At a young age and intrested in making animations in tf2, this helps a ton and you don't understand how much this helps. I created a little film called "badwater gameplay".

This looks awesome. Having experience using editing software this looks great. Looks easy to use with the proper know how and sounds like you can do amazing work with it the more advanced the user wants to take it.

To anybody starting out, I would recommend 13.1 Pose to pose animation, It is a lot easier to follow, And requires no prior knowledge of SFM, or animation in general. It takes you through every step and leaves nothing up to chance.

Its really cool that Valve would release something like this. Its a win win really. Now that the average person can make a really slick looking machinima. there will be more videos about their game, also this will keep their community happy with these kinda things. Valve knows how to treat their community.

I love how you say save your work at the end of the videos. I am creating a film while watching through these videos and I was just about to leave my computer without saving. Also, thankyou for making these (I would be so lost otherwise), and thankyou for releasing the SFM.
