The cut of grandpa king is when the hand(phone) up, the transform is the arm move

zach king is epic :) a lot of ppl criticize him bc he calls himself a magician, despite doing everything with video editing but the editing is VERY impressive

@4:18 that is not a quick cut but a masking effect! if you pay attention to the hand and the phone while they are being raised up, you can see the body gets covered completely. just mask out the hand raising up with the old man clip behind the mask, keep a green screen image on the phone face surface and then add a 2nd video clip of the "young king" back onto the phone face from the "top" masked clip. very cool effect and just like a true Magician, he does the "magic" editing way before the viewer, you, even realize the trick has begun yet.

Grandpa king : mask the trailing edge of the hand as it comes up passing over zach to reveal the old zach, along with some manual alignment and feathering

You can tell that the second clip with "old Zach" starts as soon as the camera guy raises his phone - the skateboard at the wall morphs in position in the lower image underneath the phone. No cuts afterwards needed.

The cut was when the phone raised up and you can see his thumb finger..
And I think the phone rising is green screen

Here’s my theory on gramma king:
It’s actually quite simple. In the sequence, the younger version of Zach is on top and the old version is on the bottom. As the phone rises up to his face, the mask (of course) follows the phone revealing the shot of old Zach at the bottom. If you watch it slowly, the wrinkle on the right is a little less noticeable before the phone comes up and while the phone is up. Also, the phone/ arm covers most of Zach’s body at the same time. Making the mask and the cut look almost seamless. I know this might be confusing but if I would to do this, this is exactly how I’d do it! What do you think?
