He’s not heating the shield up. The residual energy from the blaster bolts is causing the metal to heat up & 33 is using it to his advantage

You guys forgot and messed up on a few of references, The monkey guy that’s takes the money is a Teek from the Ewok Movies, The Cat Butterflies are the exact same little alien from Captain EO, and the tattoo the alien was getting is not of the Pike Syndicate but of the Hutt Clan

I'm one of those yelling "That's from Captain EO!" 😂

Good breakdown! Here are a few species corrections. The ferryman is a Teek. The tusked alien is not a Whiphid, it is a Warthog from The Mandalorian. The alien smoking a hookah is not a Kubaz, it is Hoogenz’s species from Episode VII. The alien who helps the children is not a Zygerrian, she is Theelin. The two “Kel Dor” aliens are Grindalids. The flying gerbils are direct copies of “Fuzzball” from Captain EO.

The little flying orange creature is from Captain EO at Epcot and the driver of the transport at the Pirates base was a Teek from Ewok Battle for Endor.

This show is nothing but blatant references to old media that the creators loved as kids, stilted, on-the-nose dialogue, overly earnest acting, and overly simplistic "good vs evil" tropes.

It's perfect. I love it. It's Star Wars.

sorry, but that tattoo was not for the Pikes. That was a Hutt symbol

The binary sun theme is always in a minor key. However, when the complete piece is played, there are some sections which feel like they are in a major key. That is because, like in many other film scores, this theme is written in the dorian key, which is very similar to the minor key but raises the 6th step by a semitone to typically create a sense of mystery and evolution.

The flying gerbils aren't random aliens to add to the quirkiness of the pirate port. That's Fuzzball from Captain EO.

And Neel seems to be the same species as Hooter from Captain EO, not an Ortolan.

Are they retroactively canonizing Captain EO into Star Wars?

I wouldn't be surprised if one of E.T.'s species shows up, just like in Phantom Menace.

One that you missed is that when SM-33 is naming planets and says Aldhani he then refers to it as a sulfurous bog world. Makes you wonder what happened to it after we last saw it in Andor. I can also swear I saw the Katooni at Port Borgo. If there is any place at all where Hondo could show up in modern Star Wars, a show involving pirates would be it. Man I hope we see Hondo!

THIS IS THE NEW CAPTAIN EO! Every character is reimagined except of course for Neel (kinda but not really 😂). Wim is Captain EO, Neel is Hooter, the 2 girls are the conjoined aliens that’s why they’re always shown side by side, one has the futuristic “glasses” on and the other is the taller head strong “leader”, Sm33 is Major Domo with the rat crawling in and out of his eye is technically “Minor Domo”. Sm33’s left big eye and hollow right eye is a reference to Major Domos original look, and the shields that Sm33 produce are a nod to Major Domos transformation into a drum kit in Captain EO, where he forms the same discs but they are respectively a bass drum and a Tom head or snare in the original.

Atollon was the desert planet rebel base for Phoenix squadron introduced in Star Wars Rebels Season 2.

Brianna was absolutely right with the Pirates of the Caribbean Easter egg, at the beginning of the held in a brig scene you can hear the same exact whistling tone as in the very first Pirates of the Caribbean movie while the prisoners try to attract the attention of Max the dog with key in its mouth, Including in the Pirates of the Caribbean ride in Disney parks. The whole second episode was very Pirates of the Caribbean themed and even the space port with all the ships surrounding it had the same exact feel and look as the pirates main port Tortuga scene in the third POTC movie At Worlds End.

He didn't heat the shield up. It heated up by being shot by blasters.

Hi! I noticed 2 things. One, when the kids are put in the brig, you can hear the Disney Pirates of the Caribbean pirate whistle for the dog. Also, the “creatures” who escape, are Fuzzball from Michael Jackson’s Captain EO. Used to have a stuffed one. So sad that I gave him away!!! LOVE you and your team SO much! PLEASE do Dune Prophecy!!!

The "weird little flying gerbils" are a reference to the character/creatrure of Fuzzball in the musical short Captain EO that was a 3D movie attraction made for Disneyland & Disney World back in 1988. It starred Michael Jackson and Anjelica Huston, was produced by George Lucas and directed by Frncis Ford Coppola.

Fun spot: Pirate Asteroid dock - Original Millenium Falcon design, changed because of 'Space 1999' Eagle

Fun Fact: If you listen closely, at the beginning of the jail scene in the show, you can hear a whistle. This is the same whistle that the prisoners made in the Pirates of the Caribbean when they are trying to lure a dog over who has the keys to the jail cell. Very similar to what Neel did with the rat

IMDB says the pirate's name is Vane, not Thane. Vane makes sense as a nod to real-life pirate Charles Vane, who was one of the characters in the show Black Sails.

KB is an acronym for KiloByte (uppercase B is for Byte while lowercase is for bit, there are 8 bits in a Byte), which is fitti6fpr KB because of tech, like Data from star trek
