As a youtuber (8bitcr) mentioned in their video, if you activate necrozma's special effect; you'll get either tyrunt (dusk mane) or amaura (dawn wings) wild spawns, that have a higher shiny chance this event

the ones you'll want to look out for are cranidos > rampardos, tyrunt > tyantrum, and amaura >aurorus. I heard that these pokemon are going to be useful against mega rayquaza, especially when you're low on ice types. So definitely look out for those

Also keep in mind that dunsparce's evolution dudunsparce will eventually make it into pokemon go, so not a bad mon to go after for the great league or ultra league.

Also do not forget the new Adventure Week: Taken Over event from Thursday, August 8. Perfect to remove frusration from shadow pokemon.

Field research for this is a bit questionable per LeekDuck:

- Catch 10 Rock types for Roggenrola or Dunsparce
- Spin 10 stops/gyms for Drilbur or Bunnelby*
- Evolve a Pokemon for Lileep, Anorith, or 10 Mega Aerodactyl energy
- Hatch an egg for Shieldon, Tirtouga, or Amaura
- Explore 2km for Cranidos, Archen, or Tyrunt

*Every time I get a Bunnelby from that research I'm going to punch a wall. I fully expect a broken hand by Sunday.

Oh i got that phd pikachu. I live in a small down and i pretty sure im the only one that plays religiously so i get #1 on all 3 showcases more often than not. It helps that my town only has 3 showcase locations 😭🤣 also… i feel like “boosted shiny odds from eggs” is a utter lie, imo from my previous experience

As much as I love Adventure Week as a concept, I’m getting bored with the fossil theme. There’s more to adventure than just dinosaurs.

For example we could have a Fishing Adventure, with pokestop showcases for Magikarp, Goldeen, Seaking, Remoraid, Feebas, Relicanth, etc.. Also a good opportunity to introduce Basculegion and school form Wishiwashi.

How about a Jungle Adventure starring Tropius, Tangela, Alolan Exeggutor, and a bunch of monkey or ape inspired pokemon.

Then a Desert Adventure with Sandigast, Trapinch, Durant, Cacnea, Yamask, Cofagrigus, and Maractus.

A Mountain/Forest Adventure with Stantler, Deerling, Dubwool, Gogoat, Teddiursa, Pikipeck, Swellow, and Rookidee.

Is it just me or does Adventure Week seem like a great time to introduce new mons and showcase some regionals?

Oh, and Safari Zones somewhere other than goddamn Indonesia.

What is their recent obsession with not only locking things behind eggs but then making the only other way to get particular mons through field research locked behind stupid tasks like hatching eggs or walking loads of kms!!! Where's the easy catching / throwing tasks to rattle through the encounters??!!
