Diablo 4: Vessel of Hatred reviewed by Travis Northup on Xbox Series X/S and PC, also available on PlayStation 5.

Diablo 4: Vessel of Hatred is an awesome expansion that adds an excellent new area to explore, a gloriously modular character class that I can’t stop playing, an impressive debut raid activity, and lots more. But while just about everything it adds to the action is awesome, it definitely doesn’t do enough where the somewhat flaccid campaign and story is concerned, and numerous bugs can occasionally drag it down. Thankfully, the changes to the meta, a greatly improved progression system, the resurrection of rune words, and NPC companions are all major wins for Diablo 4, even if it seems like we’ll be waiting a while to see where this interlude expansion leads.

Reviewer failed to distinguish additions to the base game and seasonal content from the DLC. The DLC is RuneWords, Spiritborn, Dark Citadel, Kurast Undercity, Mercenaries and of course the Campaign Act. Everything else - Planewalkers, Party Finder, Progression Changes - are available to everyone who owns the base game and should not be considered when deciding whether to buy or not. And the Planewalkers are just an extra seasonal activity which will be gone and replaced with something else in 3 months, so probably shouldn't be considered at all.

Feels like it really should be illegal for reviewers to mislead consumers.

nice going IGN... reviewer gives spoiler warning for D4's main story and then spoils VoH's story 20 seconds after!

Why is the footage so blurry? Fextralife footage in 1080p is much clearer

How are you guys still uploading videos in 1080p in 2024??

It took Diablo 4 a year and a half to add matchmaking. It took Destiny 10 years…

Blizzard used to generate awesome expansion packs now it has been reduced to a cheap cash grab.

When's diablo 4 getting a patch for offline play for campaign like diablo 3. I don't understand why diablo 4 is online only. Diablo 3 was the perfect approach prioritising offline play even the online mode was playable offline in diablo 3, nothing at all is available to play offline in diablo 4.

I'm not understanding this leveling change. Is he saying We're getting 10 extra skill points and then 300 paragon points? Or 300 levels with 4 paragon points per level?

so the new class is a plague dr/monk hybrid?

it sounds like the reviewer hasn't touched the game since launch which may have gaven him a new honeymoon period, but the game has been doing great since season 4 and 5, so people coming from S5 may not experience a lot of improvements (they did just nerf the most op builds of S5)

The video starts with "Diablo 4 was one of my favorite games last year."
And that just explains all Lol😂

"First draft." -- 4 games in.
Party finder a year and a half into an online multiplayer game.

Put pauldrons and belts back in the game.

What's a Jagwire? And as for the endgame 'raid' mechanics, not everybody wants uber complex battles and strategies. This isn't FFXIV.

"Diablo 4 was one of my favorite games last year" opening sentence = automatically renders this review useless
