Trading Julius Randle ? | Can the Relationship be Salvaged?

Should we attempt to trade Randle this off-season when his value may be the lowest. If we can't trade him (or choose not to) can the Knicks have success with him on the roster? What is his fit with RJ who also plays best below the free-throw line. Is his relationship with the fans salvageable or is that even an issue?

It's a no-brainer for Dallas to trade brunson for Randle straight up. They got Tim hardaway Jr still under contract, who plays Brunson's position. Adding Randle is tweaking, that's Luka's team. Hell, Randle might even play behind Hardaway. If the Knicks fell Brunson's our guy it's a no-brainer for them. We got OB ready to play Randle's position.

I think it's different when you drafted by the Knicks compared to be brought in. Many players couldn't handle the pressure after being traded here. Pat Ewing was drafted and RJ drafted, just like some of these other young players. They have a different mindset

Randle is the make up of the Knicks. He was never a 1st option. The Knicks created him to be a point forward. He had a bad first season but had good numbers. He had a great 2nd season playing that point forward position. Had a average 3rd season good numbers. I don’t care about the thumbs down, I don’t care about him being mad at the fans. I hate the complaining and acting like a baby. If he stops that and play his game I don’t mind Randle. Thibs must put him and the rest in the best place to succeed.

It's salvageable, make every effort to reconcile the relationship, don't force a trade...unless he's trying to force himself off of the team. Trade him at the end of next season especially if he plays like an ALL-STAR.

Randle needs to fix a lot of things:
Needs to hussle a defense
Do not take the ball from the PG ... HE IS NOT A BALL HANDLER
Stop the hero ball ... play in the flow of the offense. Basketball is team game
Keep his head in the game. do not messing up with the fans while the game is under way
Stop this back and forth with the press ... and be a team player

There was some real red herring arguments going on here. I never cared much about Randles emotional little girl antics. My aversion to Randle has always been about his game. His play and his style of play doesn’t contribute to winning games or playoff series. If you look at advanced statistics they tell the story. He had a PER of 15.7 low efficiency. Yes he will get you 20 pts but After taking 17 to 18 shots per game. His effort on the defense is poor and his go to move is a low percentage fadeaway on the baseline. His size is not good for a PF and he’s slow and doesn’t jump very high. His positives is he’s strong and he has good post moves. But that’s not how the game is played anymore. The game is speed and finesse and Randle is not that. So I’d rather trade Randle while he still has some value. Even if we only get 75 cents on the dollar because he already got exposed a little bit but this season he probably gets fully exposed if he’s still allowed to use up the majority of the offensive possessions. Then we won’t even get the offer’s we’re getting now. Randle is a bubble stock that’s going to burst and we are dumb investors if we don’t sell now and cash in on his market while he still has some value. There is some talk of a trade of Randle and Fournier for two first and Westbrook for one season. I would do it for two reasons we would clear cap space and we get more assets to flip or draft a player

Good Show Ladies and Fellas Very good show I don’t often get time to listen to an entire show I be havin to find time but very good show and good points by everyone…..I will say I have many concerns…..I’m not sure if Thibs is checking Randle on his attitude and holding him accountable and going by this season it didn’t seem like it at all……so it makes me wonder if you check a guys ego how are you going to manage egos if we actually get superstars If u keep Randle how will he fit alongside a superstar that’s better then him ??? How will fit along actual number 1&2 options cause at best he may be a number 3 and I say that because his IQ is even too low to be a number 2……jus being honest…..I don’t wanna learn the hard way that we should trade Randle this off-season because we don’t need that drama on the Knicks…..we have losing seasons with no drama and the media can’t keep the Knicks out their mouth so I don’t think we turn the other cheek to lingering problems…..If you get a PG you have to let a PG do PG things…..bringing the ball up….maybe pushing the Pace….resetting when necessary…..and quite frankly I feel like we have a PG on the team already in Deuce McBride…..if Thibs ain’t gone use him why even draft him And I hope we draft wings and not no big men….I know we need a big man we also have that as well…..I pray we draft a versatile wing or wings cause there are several in the draft with high motors that can we can grab……Again Good Show 💯💯💯💯💪🏽💪🏽💪🏽💪🏽💪🏽

The Olympics didn't want Julius. He double a digit rebounder and high assist player. I thought that's what Olympic team was looking for. So, something they see in him isn't right

Randle increased his chances of going to Phoenix now with how the team lost in the Playoffs.

When was the last time a player had a bad year, got it it with fans and staff, yet returned the following year? I’ve never seen it. As a manager, first off you didn’t do any to hold the play accountable when it occurred, at this point you have to satisfy your fans. Especially fans that have already been through hell and beyond. You can not roll Randle out and tell the fans “deal with it, he’s our guy!”

Julius is a great player. Lots of teams would love him. He would like to play somewhere else (it seems). The Knicks seem like they want to move him, they have a young homegrown star that plays the same position. Good luck to those involved in future endeavors. This is easy. Win/win/win.

I know N.Y. fans fell out with Randle because he stopped hitting threes. If he were in Portland, the fans would cheer his game and effort, regardless of his perimeter shot. 20-10-5 is substantial. We'll take him if he's got y'all so annoyed.

Kev is to much of a nice guy and green. He kills me on how sensitive he is. I’ve gotten older and I now give guys like that a chance it’s still hard. Man KEV you keep talking about that Boston game they almost blew that game and they looked average like they did the entire year
