Welcome to our new series, ArtResin 101 - the ultimate guide on how to use clear ArtResin Epoxy Resin!

In this video, we will walk you through how to use ArtResin, from Prep to Clean Up and every step in between!

1. PREP
First, gather your tools and prep your workspace. Tape the back or sides of your artwork if desired, ensure your artwork is clean and dry, and prop it up on stands, making sure it's level.

2. MEASURE
Determine how much ArtResin you'll need using our online Usage Calculator:
Our calculator's suggested amount is based on a 1/8" pour - you can certainly get a thicker layer of ArtResin, providing you pour in 1/8" increments.

ArtResin's ideal working temperature is 72-77F or 22-25C. If your ArtResin is colder than this, you may want to consider placing the unopened bottles in a warm water bath. Be careful to dry your bottles thoroughly - even one drop of water can cause your resin to become cloudy.

With gloves on, pour ( by volume ) equal amounts of at least room temperature resin and hardener into a mixing container.

3. MIX
Stir your resin and hardener mixture thoroughly, for at least 3 whole minutes, making sure to scrape the bottoms and sides as you go.

4. POUR
Pour and spread the ArtResin - you'll have about 45 minutes of working time to spread it, before it starts to cure and gets too thick to work with. If your resin in warmer than room temperature, this working time is decreased by about 10-15 minutes.

Spread your resin as you wish with a spreader or a foam brush. Apply ArtResin to the edges with a gloved hand, foam brush or simply allow the resin to sit on top of your artwork without going over the edge.

5. TORCH & FINISH
Once you've spread your ArtResin, you'll notice bubbles rising to the surface.

We recommend our Artist's Torch to pop bubbles for a flawless finish:

Pick out any hairs or dust particles using a toothpick and cover your wet artwork with a box to protect it from dust.

6. WAIT
Allow your covered artwork to dry overnight.
In about 24hrs, your piece will be hard to the touch. After 72hrs, it will be fully cured! Cure times will decrease in a warm room.

7. CLEAN UP
Wipe down your tools, mixing jug and measuring cups promptly after use with paper towels.
Spritz with rubbing or denatured alcohol and wipe your tools down again for a final clean.

TIP - Do NOT use rubbing alcohol to remove ArtResin from your skin. Alcohol breaks down ArtResin, yes, but it also allows your skin to absorb it! Save the alcohol for your tools and use soap and water for sticky skin.

If you've taped off the underside of your piece, remove the tape carefully, no later than 24hrs after you've poured.

Finally, admire your wonderful ArtResin'd creation!!

And there you have it!

My art work is just pins and keychains so I am guessing no need for a spreader.

I have a lighter. How can I use that to help? Already spent $400+ on resin stuff including respirator and cartridges. Now I found Art Resin after I already bought Blue Moon Studio Resin at Michaels with UV light and flashlight.

Do I NEED a torch and mixing stick? Already have spent so much and my husband after I bout Art Resin said NO MORE.

Hi, I'm looking at doing a thicker resin coat. Would you recommend doing one standard coat at a time until I get my desired thickness or can I just go for it in one go?

When it comes to the box to cover the work after applying the resin. Won't the resin stick to the box? Is there a specific way to place the box so sticking doesn't happen?
