I just hope they don't mess this all up

The best way to look at this from may be to look at the dinosaurs as an invasive species. They might be able to survive for a time on the plant life available in a certain area, but overtime they will decimate what is available and move to areas where it feed it more readily available. That could be at least part of a reason at least larger species would move to warmer climates.

Nowhere in the synopsis does it say that the dinosaurs are dying off it just says that they are migrating to the equator.

So I guess "Life doesn't always find a way."

biggest problem for me is why do they need DNA from the three most colossal creatures specifically.

I wonder if Chaos theory might address this in the next seasons similar to the brain implants from Dominion in Camp Cretaceous

Ikr I don’t like how their just killing off the dinosaur and basically restricting them to smaller region or even worse go back in a island

I'll tell you the problem with Jurassic World Rebirth, if it's a DINOSAUR FRANCHISE, WHY YOU KILLING THE DINOSAURS OFF?! It doesn't make ANY sense!

It's possible that the word we should be focusing on is "isolated", not equatorial - like critically endangered species today, the dinosaurs survive in their greatest numbers in protected/isolated regions where humans can't get to them. "Equatorial" is only specified because the film is set in a tropical region.

Like, how can they be dying out, when illegal cloning is still a thing

Even if they all died in wild, there's still would be ones kept as illegal pets or for illegal fights or for illegal zoos

And most likely, they would often escape

Well, actualy the plot about dinos dying off is more realistic than we think. We must not forget that they were introduced forcefully to multiple environments that may not be suitable for their natural needs. Yes, there were videos on the Dino tracker portraying Brachiosaurus in a snowy forest, but that does not mean that the Brachy lived happy and healthy live. Same for the Apatosaurus amd Parasaurolophus in Dominion. Elefants too are endothermic and can survive in the snowy areas for temporary period and even enjoy it, but that does not mean that we can introduce them to Alaska and they will thrive there. Moreover, InGen dinos may have been modified to withstand modern climate, but they were never meant to live outside Isla Nublar or Isla Sorna. So I really doubt InGen made them "winter-proof". Also they were raised by people in enclosed and controled environment and were supplied by specific sources of food to keep them healthy. Modern world covered mostly by africultural land with occasional islands of forest areas may not and will not offer such variety and amounts of food to fulfill their needs. So, after some time, when the limited sources are depleted, animals will migrate to other areas where they can find what they need. The next problem is that in other than tropical and subtropical areas with complicated acces there are human settlements everywhere. And these urbanised areas are everything else but suitable for grazing herds of megafauna. That is why we do not have european/american lions, wild cattle, wild horses, european elephants and american mastodonts anymore... sooner or later the desire to get rid of problematical dinosaur encounters will raise. And the outcome will be a natural, or a violent transfer of dinosaurs to more wild and untouched areas of the planet. And last but not least, the utopical ending of Jurassic World Dominion is more like a stupid fairy tale and THAT is what actualy disregards the whole franchise. Do not forget that all of the previous movies amd even Michael Crichton himself shows us that dinosaurs out of their paddocks are a living nightmare for multiple and very serious reasons.

I believe the change of direction could be due to the fact Colin is not involved and he was the one pushing for the story, but without his insight David Koepp and the other producers opted to go in another direction

I do wanna point out that Velociraptor in reality was covered in feathers and it lived in the hot Mongolian desert.

The writers need to give out a logical explanation as to why they are doing this.

I get that it doesn't make much sense unless earth may be entering another ice age, which in itself would be a cool concept and could open up the possibility of bringing Pleistocene animals back, but if they decide to just stick to the basic plot we know of so far I could see it being some kind of "back to the roots" moment for the francise.

Wiping out Dinosaurs from a Jurassic Park movie is like making Lightsabers completely null in Star Wars-
Oh wait a second...
Seriously what is happening to movies?

The idea of dinosaurs living with humans all around the world is the coolest thing ever and something I've always wanted ever since I was like 7yo. Seeing this with the extremely high quality CGI we have nowadays like a childhood dream coming true. It's so sad that they're leaning towards the "all the dinosaurs are dying", cuz I'd pay to watch any movie with dinosaurs living among people the modern world.

The only way I can see the Dinosaurs no longer thiriving is the fact that the environment is suited to support such megafauna (even though an ecosystem is at its healthiest with large numbers of megafauna). That, or diesease like you said.

Other than that, I really don't think the different climate alone would cause Dinosaurs (as whole) to die off since they're a very diverse and adaptable group of animals (even today). Even if the global climate was unsuitable for them, why would they actively spread out into the colder regions?
