Glioblastoma patient survives against all odds

John and Jessica Bostock were at an exciting time in their lives when John was diagnosed with a brain tumor. Six years later, John is a survivor. The Norton Healthcare Brain Tumor Center is a collaboration of Norton Neuroscience Institute and Norton Cancer Institute and offers same-day appointments for newly diagnosed patients.

Very sadly, I've just read an online obituary recording that John Bostock passed away aged 42, only 11 days ago, as I write this, on Tuesday, February 6, 2024 at home "after an 8.5 year courageous battle with glioblastoma." May I offer my condolences to his wife Jessica and 10-year-old daughter Olive. He sounded a great guy and did well to hold this awful disease at bay for so long - my heartfelt best wishes to anyone else who has also been struck down by glioblastoma.

My sister was diagnosed in Oct. 2021 . After surgery and chemo she has worn the Optune therapy for the last two years and continues to wear it! No change in her tumor has been detected ! Thank you Optune and Jesus!!

My sister passed away on the 1st of November 2023 aged 53, She got diagnosed only 15 months ago..Miss her so much

My fiance got diagnosed last month but he's declining so fast he had forgotten who I was only a week after he was hospitalized. He has had this since at least April and it was mistaken for a brain bleed at first until he became weak and dehydrated. At least our son will have the memories of his dad loving him. I just pray for any other family going through this, it's not easy watching someone so dear decline the way he has. It's so devastating!

I'm sitting here with my husband who was diagnosed with GBM in October, 2006.
On diagnosis we were told he had a year to a year and a half to live.
This fall marks 18 years since we received that devistating news.
He is proof that there is hope.

I lost my husband of 20 years to this monster of a cancer he had a massive seizure June 2021 and passed away April 6, 2022. I was his caregiver and it almost destroyed me going through everything with him because it’s a curse and a blessing being able to help them care for them and provide any bit of comfort. His was in the frontal lobe and the deep middle and it was spreading to different parts of the brain. He would have massive seizures maybe once a month and they would up his seizure medication and dexamethasone he was so swollen and couldn’t get off the steroids which also broke his body down it was awful. He really only had 2 1/2 good months where he was walking with his walker even without his walker going outside out for supper we saw a few movies in the theatre but when the decline starts it really does start quickly my heart breaks for anybody that has to live through this terrible cancer.

My baby brother got diagnosed today with this tumor we are so worried. We need help.

My mother was diagnosed with this and died within a week of the diagnoses. She didn't feel well, and suddenly fell into a coma infront of me. Bc of that, I now suffer from ptsd and can't hold a job down.

My dad got diagnosed with this 1 month and 10 days ago, GBM IDH wild type unmethylated MGMT, is it possibile to survive this or it's basically a death sentence? He got total resection of the tumor and now he is about to start radio+chemio, is there anyone who survived or who knows someone that survived? Thank you
