I was diagnosed with a glioblastoma in 2006 and I'm still around kicking it 😘😊

My dad had GBM…. And passed away on April 3rd 2024. This cancer has completely ruined my life! I’m only 14 so now my dad is going to miss almost everything in my life. It’s not fair that everyone around me has a dad who gets to go to their weddings and graduation and vacations but not me because my dad was taken away!

Grandma was diagnosed with Grade 4 Glioblastoma. She died in exactly 2 months after it was first detected. I could sense something wrong with her for 6 months and did my part communicating with my parents and uncle but they didn't took it seriously until it was too late. She was in a vegetative state for 10 days before died. I could literally see her loosing grip on herself more and more everyday. I take great satisfaction in the fact that i made her laugh so hard during her last days.

Treatment needs to be considered by the family. My father, he was in the 99%, 6’ 170lbs. He lived for 8 months with a glioblastoma. He also had a tumor in his hippocampus. During the day he was a fraction of himself. at night my mother and I couldn’t sleep taking care of him. There was no reasoning and no medication that worked, there was memory loss that happened abruptly and after that his short term memory went from around 4 minutes to seconds over the course. he was a business owner and we walked him to work every day, most definitely because he was in good health.
My family is pretty tough, we’re closing down his business and closing down another, you are not alone!!! If this happens to you or someone you know the simplest things matter. I got to say good bye to my father a thousand times and it was always his first. Being present is the hardest part.

My Brother in law is diagnosed with Glioma and his surgery is planned in a couple of days. How do we know if its Glioblastoma or Glioma before surgery ? The doctors are keeping the info away from us

My mom's sister has glioblastoma and doctor has given her a time of 2-2.5 yrs and you said only some amount of patients survive past 1 year...I am not understanding this thing

I don’t Think, that prognozes with so called hard facts are helpfull for patients and their families.
It is not good to repeat numbers of month and statistics, because it has a bad effekt on the patients. They will fullfill the inner picture, which they are confronted with.
