First set was tight but still MEP got an excess 5 points. A staggering 8 of SLEP's 16 winners were overheads, which made MEP switch to passing shots as the follow up to the drop shot, which constituted 10/28 of his winners.
I think both knew very well what was going on and SLEP tried to keep the ball high while MEP kept it low, also intercepting more of the traffic half court. The longer rallies tended to favor MEP, especially in the 2nd set where he made only 1 error against SLEP's 8, which may also indicate a difference in fitness.

I adjusted the playback speed to 1.5 and then 1.75 X. Then, it really became a rousing show of long rallies and blazing speed.

We'll need to bring together one MEP from every state for a national tournament

When I was coaching JC tennis these are the type of matchups I would generally see at the 6=7 spots. Very consistent and patient tennis. Personally, I love it. These guys are machines!

MEP Atlanta has a ton of patience. I feel like that is an underrated strength of his. He has some good passing shots when the time is right.

I feel that the perfect background song to watch this match to is the Police's Walking On The Moon. It has that same lulling effect, but you can't readily take your eyes/ears off it.

Great, great match! As a coach, this was a joy to watch because of the "chess-match" that was going on. The first set 4-4 game was key. MEP Atlanta hung in there and found a way. From there, he was just dialed in. Here's the thing - MEP Atlanta has offense. When he needs to, he'll dial up the pace of those chop forehands. The varying pace can become unpredictable. MEP Seattle did well (a could've easily won the first set) but MEP Atlanta knows how to raise his game when it counts. "Raising your game" is an x-factor intangible type of skill that not many players have. Awesome stuff 👍

I was worried that the Universe might implode if two MEPs play each other. Seriously though, red shirt has a rock solid net game and is good on the overhead. It's not accurate to describe him as a pusher. He is actually quite aggressive in looking for opportunities at the net.

The beauty of MEP is this. We have ALL played an MEP before and we will never be the same again. My first MEP was a guy named Curtis. He bunted EVERY BALL back into no mans land with no pace, no spin - oh and each ball was the same a half moonball. Zero variety. I lost so badly I wanted to die. LOL.. We must all go through this. I was a 3.5 at the time, and let me be clear to MEP (Ben). Curtis my MEP, was no where even close to the skill level of Ben. Ben would have eaten Curtis alive. The point was, I had never seen anyone present me with soft high balls, and just wait to watch me self destruct. Beautiful. :)

I felt like I was watching the same superhero's of alternate universes, with opposite color suits (Andrew was wearing the same green at the end??!?). MEP of this universe prevails yet again. Many thanks to TTC for another awesome upload. Cheers.

I found your channel recently. Love your content! Sometimes I find it more fun to watch these types of players rather than pros, guess it's because they're more on my level. Anyways, subscribed!
