It’s the stuff of nightmares — you’re riding in a train on a mountain road, when all of a sudden, the train starts moving backwards. Believe it or not, there is a train in Ecuador that people actually pay to ride that does this on its normal route, and this is far from the only dangerous railway that you can travel in the world. From the Japanese railway that will take you over the mouth of an active volcano to the steepest railway in the world that will make you feel like you’re traveling vertically, let’s take a look at the most dangerous railways in the world.

Actually the one that goes backwards is perfectly safe. Trains go backwards all the time.

One of the things I like is all the #MumboJumbo about education and progress and technology and yet there are still plenty of rail crossings on roadways where there could be either tunnels or bridges one way or the other.

It's almost like the idiots who serve as city and urban planners aren't really doing much of anything while milking the taxpayers for a paycheck, benefits and a pension. #EndMooching
