I’m not gonna doubt it. Pentel makes my favorite mechanical pencil, the Twist-Erase. Been using them for years. For me they leave every other mechanical pencil in the dust. Quality feel, strong advancement mechanism, and a massive eraser that is commonly available. All this thing needs is one of those erasers and I’m sold.

It’s so weird to me that as a society, we’ve pushed that adults use pens and school children use pencils to the point where everyone I know, me included, don’t use pencils in the daily lives. I’ve been getting into fountain pens recently and bought a lot but now I’m thinking I want to get a nice mechanical pencil to to round out my tool box. I’ve got a nice ball point, some nice fountain pens, now I need a good mechanical pencil to tie it all together.

Agreed. It's the first mechanical pencil with automatic advancing lead that i liked and i tested multiple of them.

honestly pressing for more lead is fun

I'm a big fan of the Uni Kuru Tega myself, never has a flat spot since it rotates the lead for you, it's a dream to write with as it's always sharp.. but you do have to click for lead. Their aluminum version is light and grippy, but the plastic version is smooth and super light.

Also check out ROtring 800 if you like a heavy, high quality pencil. Or their ball point pens are also wonderful if you want a device meant to last.

You had me at “there’s a point 3mm version of this pencil” ❤

Mix this with Kuratoga spinning mechanism and youve got a perfect pencil

That’s interesting, but does the tip auto rotate to prevent that horrible one sided wear? If not, Kuru is still my preference.

I think this pencil is light! I have hundreds of mech pencils and this thing is agile, comfortable, feels nicely made.

Yep, agree this is the best on the market today.

Uni-ball Kuru Toga is also technically cool (it auto-rotates the lead so it keeps a nicely rounded tip).

I prefer thicker lead like 0.9 and light pencils so it barely feels like I'm holding it. But i also use it for drawing and almost never write script so our use cases are different

It feels great on hand reminds me kinda of the rotring 600. 😂. Had to buy it. Now I have one more cool pencil

I read reviews and other people's views on their daily use of this pencil. Apparently, most have experienced constant scratching of the paper due to its slow automatic function. The sleeve ends up scratching the paper, and you have to tilt it almost vertically to avoid this. But nobody writes with a pencil/ pen vertically.

I really wanted this pencil for the automatic system but decided to go for the Orenz AT. People have mentioned that this version hardly scratched their paper compared to the Orenz Nero pencil. 😊

"You will never need to 'click on' the pencil"

I have so many mechanical pencils but my absolute favourite is the classic ohto sharp mini

I found it a bit uncomfortable at first, but I have a non standard grip. I eventually got used to the feel. I love this for taking notes because I never have to click. It’s very nice.
