It is tempting to hit a Smash when the opponent plays high, but a good Dropshot can be as powerful and is an essential weapon for every ambitious badminton player. There are many different ways you can hit a drop, and beside the "standard drop" where you just slow down the movement I want to show you 3 more options, how you can decieve your opponent and how you can set up or score points from the rear court!

Awesome tutorial. Drop-shot in general is something that I find needs a certain "touch" so I have some difficulties doing it. Your breakdown on each one was perfect. Thank you Tobias.

Great tutorial. I used to play at the club level 40 years ago. We used to call the stop drop the floating drop. It was and is one of the most potent attacking shots ever.

Drop 4: most important for that shot is Shoulder Axle. Raquetshoulder should be the other one. Thats why doin the crosscourt-shot is easier in the beginning.

Best regards
Pro Coach ;)

By the way: wadenka ist right now the only one on Youtube who s got real Expertise!

I think i got what i should training for this weekend, i really want to learn drop shot bcs my smash isn't really powerful (also my posture is on shorter side even for normal guy) so many times i played drive rather than smashing.
Thx for the tutorial!

Can we get a brief explanation on when to use which drop? In the context of singles/doubles, etc. Thanks!
