Great Diode in the Sky, I may be developing a bit of a crush on Carrie!!!
But nevermind my goofballness, the Cutty Sark is a supreme vessel, a record breaker of its time, and one of the most creatively made museums on the planet.
It is a masterpiece of dry dock, a seaworthy beauty, a hairsbteath to the Greenwich shore itself.
It calls to that river, the River calls back.
I found, in 2022, a lid of a tea caddy.
I looked up at Cuttys mats, and said thanks.
2days later, I found the other part of that tea caddy!!!!
I am a tea nut, I own maybe 5000 bux worth of tea.
I have some, from about 1987, in my Greenwich tea caddy🥰

The knife handle.
You can tell if it is ivory if it has tiny checkmark patterns.
They are called the ‘lines of Retzius’
Only elephant ivory has this.

I have a sort, it is the story of my VERY first mudlarking moment.
First, I looked upon the river, this was in Greenwich, naval college adjacent.
I looked upon this river, and I asked, please allow me to find something remarkable, and to prove my loyalty, I promised to not take my very first find.
My very first find was a bit of green ware.
But I kept my promise, I set it back down.
So my second find, literally seconds after, was a clay pipe circa 1620!!
I have a video of it, I would love to share this with you, it’s crazy!
Plus, descending the steps down to the foreshore, I broke my pinky finger!!!
It is still crooked, to this day.
The river granted my promise, and delivered, but it took its toll, a finger for a pipe😌
I am proud to have paid this toll.
I carry this crooked finger as a badge of honor
