When someone have more serious problem even Norton360 will not help you and NPE. Disk is dirty, you can try to fix, but it will not help you. When this is a system volume -disk- it's not getting any easier. I'm trying now few methods, the automatic disk checking on startup was well... automatic. Next is cmd with 'fsutil dirty' what is not also helpful with mine problem. The third one is Norton - yes, this is premium function, but even that isn't helping.
Going to try defrag and pray for good result. If you have same problem and any of those stages are not working at all you should, if having a win key, reinstall system and put important files on HDD.

Sadly its not working for me !
I start the operation and then it just breaks it up without completing it.
No error message given just stopped !

Well I'm getting the error but the Chkdsk command does nothing, either through the Properties-->Tools window or through the command prompt... :/

when I run the 'automatically fix file system errors' nothing happens, the bar doesnt move along with any progress and the HDD becomes inaccessible via my computer. Is there any other solution to this 'volume is dirty' error. Fucking piece of shit Toshiba HDD!!!
