Convolution device – New in Bitwig Studio 4.3

Bitwig Studio 4.3's new device, Convolution, can take any sound anywhere — even places that don't exist. All convolutions imprint your sound with an "impulse," and ours comes ready-made with 270 of them, ranging from 12th-century cathedrals and legendary studio effects to more abstract "environments." Using the impulse of a room or hall creates a realistic reverb, but Bitwig's Convolution (and its content) offers so much more. Here we cover just a few of those possibilities.

I switched to Bitwig at 4.1 and every new update since then has been a thrill. I've been using computers for all kinds of things since mid-90s, and seriously, it's been a very long while since I was using a piece of software and really loved everything about it, everything about it made sense, and every new release made it better, rather than, you know, the opposite, as is often the case today :-) Please don't stop doing what you're doing!

This is freakin awesome. I was only recently getting into convolution reverb with the one built into Kontakt and Reaktor, but this will be sooo much easier and versatile.

HA!!! I was just going to buy a 3rd party VST for Convolution reverb but Bitwig is just such a good investment that they can take care of most of my DAW needs - so beware VST manufactures and other DAW software - Bitwig is lurking around the corner, waiting to pounce on your every need, anticipating your wants and desires. Germany rocks!

The simplicity in this device is excellent! Still want to see some form of shimmer in the stock Reverb though... Reverb+ coming? :-)

ooeeeh the bitwig native plugins make extensive use of multi core CPU's so i am very curious wether the convolution is very light on CPU because of that.

For the 4 channel impluses, how do we setup our surround? I am only able to output to two channels at a time on the track and master. My interface has 6 outputs which supports 5.1.
