It's kinda like being perfect. We want to find common ground but some of us are better at it than others. Common ground with criminals could be hard. Share your house with the homeless. There are a lot of examples that ain't never gonna happen. I love the concept though. It's a journey not a destination

The thing that individualism and collectivism share in common is the word "priority." I don't think there's a middle ground. We're SOCIAL creatures but we're also SELF aware. Religion is collectivist. I was disphellowshiped once for sharing beliefs that went against the organization. I think instead of middle ground we should ask which should come first in regards to the individual identity and group identity.

I'm still learning so I'm still trying to think what you mean by moral absolute?
