When you run out of fuel it makes the float stick in the down ward position and will no longer stop fuel from flowing into the bowl THUS overfilling and leaking fuel out.

Thank you, I was wondering why it was dumping fuel last night.

This just saved me from taking my sons 4wheeler carb off. A few taps fixed it right up

You don't have to take it off and apart. Open the bottom. Drain screw, allow the fuel to drain and blow compressed air into the overflow tube, into the carb. It'll blow your float up and help it re-seat properly.

I got a Honda rancher 350 from a family member who just had a refurbished carb put on it and noticed it was leaking fuel everywhere, so I took it off and cleaned it good. Floats fine and cleaned that seat needle good but now it's coming out the drain screw at the bottom but the screw is tight. Is the screw supposed to have a o ring on the end or what? It's driving me nuts!

Mine leaks but I took the bottom half of the carb off and the float seemed to move fine, not sure if it has changed height or not but I changed the filter and lines recently so I emptied the bike and carb of fuel. Would just blowing compressed air in solve it? Is an awkward spot to tap with anything so that might be my only option haha. Thanks.

I bought a gorgeous motorcycle a couple weeks ago… after I turned the bike on for 4 minutes for the first time yesterday… I realized afterwards that the petcock was left open on “on” that whole time… Now I don’t know much… but theoretically and generally speaking of a question… could flooding it get it stuck as well?… I had the bike running for 4 minutes and revved it lightly twice.

Let me know if the basis of my concern… shouldn’t even exist either. … oil levels were half between min and max on the level stick…but they were probably mixed with fuel since the stick smelt like fuel… there was smoke, sputtering, then I’m not sure if there was knocking sound….

I’m gonna do an oil change and a oil filter change here in the next day or two… just trying to figure out what else might bring peace to mind, low oil light was on and the petcock was leaking from the switch…. Maybe I’m in my head idk.

To people listening to him
Your carbs floats Gunna drop over time
Your carbs floats gunna stick from sitting in fuel varnish

No matter what you do just have a second carburettor on hand, I have one for every machine I own and my life's fun and easy.

Your meant to empty your carb when done riding for a few weeks so your float would be left in that position

My friend has a cr 125 and when I he leans the bike to the left, it's leaks, when he leans the bike to the right it doesn't leaks...we are trying to solve this! I think the because of the tube that is on the right
EDIT :
We solve the problem, was the leveling of the carburator, we rotated more so the tube could be higher.
