My teacher decided that logarithms were not important to teach, and when the EOC Exam came around, about 50% of the questions were on logarithms... By the grace of God, I passed the exam, now that I'm going into college, I am more confident now that I understand these. Thank you so much for making these video series Paul! :)

This video helped me so
If it wasn't for this video, i wouldn't have known how to do this type of logarithm which i have been struggling with for a while.
Thank you so much.

Thank you very much Paul! I have a big math test coming up tomorrow and I was super nervous but now I understand all the concepts! So So So Helpful!

The change of base formula is useful whenever you want to check the value of a logarithm on a calculator. Most calculators only come with a log base 10 button (LOG) and a log base e button (LN). The change of base formula lets you calculate any base with either one of these buttons. For further detail on using the change of base formula, please see Lesson 4 of this playlist.

3 + log2(X) = log2(5)
3 = log2(5) - log2(X)
3 = log2(5/X)
2^3 = 5/X
X = 5/8
I'm sorry but I still don't understand why you wouldn't just do what i have done above.

Hi Paul, this tutorial is excellent. Thank you very much.

I have a question, how to solve this issue?

For this statement to be true, what is the value of n?
log2(n) < n

or : n < (2^n)

Thank you.

Sir, I would really appreciate if u could make a vid on proving an algorithm!! i.e LHS=RHS
for eg: log x/y-z=log y/z-x=log z/x-y, show that xyz=1
Thank you.

Hi, Can you explain how is it calculated for log(2) without a calculator. On executing this on calculator we get 0.301029996... how can we get this on piece of paper. Thanks in Advance!
