Today we will be showing you how we checked the level of antifreeze, or coolant, in our vehicle. We first show you in a 2003 Chevy Cavalier and then in a 2012 Honda Odyssey. Always make sure your vehicle is turned off and has COMPLETELY cooled down. It is very important that you do not check the antifreeze while the engine is hot. Always consult with your owner's manual to see how to fill the antifreeze and what kind of antifreeze you need to buy for your car. We hope these tips will help you as you check your antifreeze. What if my coolant reservoir isn't clear and can't really see where fluid line is? Is there any way to tell? I tried using a flash light but the container is a solid color like and not transparent.

Do modern cars need anti-freeze? Coolant cap does not say anything and I have started my car in below freezing temperatures before without any problem? Also it had sat for almost 24 hrs in below freezing and I checked the coolant tank and it did not look frozen. And what temperature does coolant freeze? I am from the south and we never use or have I heard of anyone putting anti freeze in their car before. 😢

I am having a hell of a time bleeding the air out of the cavalier. I feel as though i get air trapped behind the thermostat. With cap off I rev the vehicle up to get air bubbles out, I will see the coolant begin to surge into the reservoir and hear a knocking sound coming from radiator to the reservoir, and I see where coolant is flowing through the hoses and through the system. As soon as I put the cap on after I assume that the air is gone the hoses begin to collapse. Especially the one that is higher up on that black tube? Why would it do this? Cap and reservoir are new.

I got a sign where it said check your charging system then it said check engine temperature when to autozone and had them test my alternator and battery they say it's good but still the signs show up that means I need to put oil and antifreeze right ?
